Right, because it's the backpacks. And more officers. And metal detectors, And immigration. And "bad hombres" and every damned thing else but what it's really about - a bullet and a gun.
Texas just effectively banned abortion and a woman's right over her own autonomy "for the children" but will stand by as babies are ripped from this word in this kind of violence. The next words from my mind are censored here.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT GUNS. THIS IS ABOUT POWER. The 2nd amendment (not even interpreted by the Scotus until 2008), was put in place to maintain well-regulated militias. Not just in case of the marauding British. Militias were protection against slave revolts and runaways, and militias were regularly sent out looking for runaway slaves. Red states were plied with promises of keeping that stipulation should they choose to join the Union.
This has continued throughout the decades, through the civil rights movement and into today. Old white men love power because they are cowards. They hold women down through legislating their bodies and lives; they hold "different" people down by passing legislation outlawing their lifestyles; they keep minorities down (in so many way) by bolstering the ridiculously hollow rhetoric of the NRA with arguably the strongest lobby in Washington.
Until someone says, "That's it; until we figure this out, we're removing the problem from hands." I don't need to hear a word from anyone official on this. And until the millions of people who scream about the 2nd amendment and their freedoms but would never think of owning a firearm, find a different hill to die on. Because until you do, we're all taking the crossfire.

Republicans in congress are complicit to the NRA, that's allowing mass shootings to happen.

@SW-User you unsympathetic jerk... sending billions of dollars to a foreign country before taking care of your own children at home.

No failure. Guns were supposed to be dangerous. You can expect lots of casualties. Stop caring about the people who get shot. Americans plan to keey shooting and keep driving. They don't deserve your sympathy, and frankly, nobody can care after so much trauma. Go ahead and die-. I don't care.

@Changeisgonnacome I see what you’re doing, I get it but it doesn’t help.
Changeisgonnacome · 61-69, F
@Quetzalcoatlus i doubt that. After a lot of traffic and gun tragedy I am naturally feelings free and skeptical. Keep the guns. You don't get my sympathies with that
AlyAngel · F
@Changeisgonnacome children deserve to be protected and when something as tragic as this happens their love ones deserve sympathy and compassion!

@sunsporter1649 that's not part of this subject, you deflector piece of shit.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SW-User Over 13,000 Federal, state, and local gun laws on the books, how about enforcing the laws on the books instead of defunding police
SW-User
@sunsporter1649 I don't own any guns at all.

AR-15s and AK-47s should not be legal for civilians to carry on the streets in any US State, if mentally ill people don't have access to those guns they can't carryout mass shootings.

@Quetzalcoatlus mine aren't going to daycare or preschool tomorrow

@Changeisgonnacome you seriously dont feel bad that babies....BABIES died today! They arent going to become teenagers, fall in love, get married, have babies of their own! Their life ended before it truly began and you don't feel sad for them?
Changeisgonnacome · 61-69, F
@AlyAngel not for the hundredth time. I'm tapped out. Guns are important to Americans, so I can not afford sympathy.
Catzgano · 31-35, F
A kid down the street had a bulletproof backpack
Catzgano · 31-35, F
@Quetzalcoatlus I thought it was too until another school got shot up
Quetzalcoatlus · 46-50, M
@Catzgano The fact that our kids have to wear bullet proof accessories is absurd.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Quetzalcoatlus They don't. We put that on them. All we've ever had to do was remove the weapon of death.
Backpacks don't shoot people...

I'm leaving the usa soon, this place is falling apart. I have a niece who lived 20 miles from that school in Texas
