Yea so I guess women that work all day long can suddenly switch to breast feeding with milk that has probably dried up months ago.
Also so many babies now a days need certain formulas. I had a friend whose baby could only process one type of formula and another friend who just couldn't produce enough milk to feed hers.
Back in the 1890 maybe a wet nurse would be hired but thats not a thing anymore. Its also not sanitary.

@REMsleep My sister takes meds for schizophrenia and was advised not to nurse my niece.

@bijouxbroussard Yet another fairly common reason. Passing psych meds to newborn. Not good for sure.
