Let's look at your pejoratives, Right

Everyone you disagree with is "woke." The "woke liberal" and the "Woke left." I'm wondering just how you're using it to put others down.

According to Oxford Language Dictionary, woke is the past of wake
1. adjective INFORMAL•US
alert to injustice in society, especially racism.
"we need to stay angry, and stay woke"

According to Merriam Webster: woke, adjective
woker; wokest
Definition of woke: chiefly US slang
: aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice)

"Woke nowadays refers to being aware or well informed in a political or cultural sense, especially regarding issues surrounding marginalized communities - it describes someone who has “woken up” to issues of social injustice."

If this side is attentive and responsive to issues or racism and social injustice, what does the other side represent?

It’s not just U.S. slang, it was specifically black U.S. slang from decades ago. I personally bristle a bit when I hear it now used to disparage people who aren’t being bigoted and tend to think the person using the term must be pro-bigotry. A long way from the days when it was considered a serious compliment to be called "woke".

@bijouxbroussard Part of the huge downside of "trending". When it becomes a "buzzword" it denigrates the language and original meaning to help the clueless look like they are trendy.

When I first heard it, I assumed they meant ironically. Like, "You call yourself 'woke,' but really you are part of the regressive left." It was always in quotes. I think it shifted now that it has bounced round-and-round through the echo chambers. Now it's just another pejorative word to place alongside "leftist," "liberal," and "snowflake." Bonus points if they can also get in a dig about "safe spaces."

None of those words are inherently bad either. I always wonder why would it be bad to be a snowflake? Each snowflake is unique, just as each person is unique. What, are they really opposed to individuality?

It's easy to mock people you don't know. I try to be people's "leftist friend," to help them understand why we care about the values we do, but without disparaging them. I used to have a friend I played Pokemon Go with who called me his "reasonable leftist friend." I remember sitting at the picnic table outside a gym we were capturing as he grilled me about Critical Race Theory. It was exhausting at times, but I always did my best to just present my views without taking offense despite his best attempts to make me angry.

People who couldn't give a flying fuck about any of that and are too stupid to realise they are being led by the nose down the path to authoritarianism.
@LegendofPeza ...and who claim that it is the awakened who are being misled...!

Where is all the money? Much is on the Right.

@LegendofPeza Well, then it's time to dust off that thing in the corner and stick it back in your head. It's your brain and it's used to think.
@Graylight

He did say
and are too stupid to realise they are being led by the nose down the path to authoritarianism.
