sad to say but the conservative element in the U.S. is making them become a backwards country. another example: all first world countries and more and more 3rd world countries have universal healthcare but in the U.S. communism-paranoia makes many think universal healthcare is communism. then I ask them in what way does universal healthcare equate to colective ownership of the means of production ( the essence of communism as defined by Marx) and then they go silent because they have never even studied Marx and have no idea what communism is.

@reflectingmonkey I kind of hate the idea of government controlling our healthcare but I can not ignore the fact that we spend more on healthcare than any other nation on the planet and we do not get as good results as other first world nations who have universal healthcare of some sort.
