Trans women in sports, are we ok with that? It seems like trans women are dominating whatever women's sport they enter.

I don't care what anti-trans people have to say on this subject.
I'm interested in hearing from other people who generally support transgender rights.

Is it fair for a person who has undergone male puberty to compete against biological women?

So is it time for sports competitions to have 3 genders, Male, Female and Trans? I'm not a biologist so can't say whether trans people have an unfair advantage but I would think that they would, but that's just my opinion which isn't worth a hill of beans. The International Governing Bodies seem to have decided that it's ok and I have to assume they've done their due diligence on this???

@spjennifer They have not done their due diligence when a male athlete can go from ranked 500th to win a championships by simply changung his gender

@Vegasgiants What proof do you have that "she" is a "Male Athlete", are you her doctor or at the least a biologist? That is only your opinion and you are entitled to it but can you admit that you may be wrong???

@spjennifer She was a male athlete and was ranked 500th. Now she is a femake athlete and wins the national championship.

You see nothing wrong with that?
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@Vegasgiants No, as long as it is sanctioned by the Governing Body of that sport. Let's say for example that China genetically modified 25 children so that they all grow up to be 6'5", 250 lbs super athletes and make a soccer team out of them and train them for that, if they were competing with other Men, would you consider that an unfair advantage? The first thing that needs to be evaluated is whether the trans athletes do in fact have an unfair advantage when compared with women and I have to assume that the Governing Body of that sport has investigated whether that is fact. You are acting outraged by something you know little about...

@spjennifer i am actualyy well versed in this topic as i have researched it. Lets start here

Biologist Emma Hilton who co-authored a review on trans women in sports has studied it.

She found that in most every category, men are much stronger. Testosterone blockers just can’t close the gap.

“A male could be 40% stronger than a female on his legs,” she says. “Things like shoulder width don’t change when transgender women suppress testosterone. They don’t get shorter. Their hearts don’t get smaller. They’ve still got big lungs. The performance gap in weightlifting is over 30% ... throwing a baseball over 50% ... when a male punches, 160%.”

@Vegasgiants As someone who is actually Trans, I have also researched it a great deal, here is a perhaps less biased article with a broader perspective on the issue you might find of interest as it presents some salient points without Dr. Hilton's obvious bias. If you read my original message, I don't dispute that there may indeed be an "unfair Advantage" but since the current philosophy of the Governing Bodies is to allow it, I don't see things changing until much broader studies with many participants have been conducted that allows them to better judge but those studies may take many years...

@spjennifer Groups like the NCAA got it wrong for decades by saying blacks snd whites could not compete together. I personally believe they are currently getting it wrong. I feel bad that there is no place for these athletes as it is not their fault but we dont advance civil rights by ignoring the obvious.
