Do you know who Marsha Blackburn is?

She’s a TN Republican senator = a GQP MAGA right-wing conspiracy theorist.

Today she said that Griswold v Connecticut, the Supreme Court case that gave MARRIED women the right to use birth control, was constitutionally unsound. Here we go again!!

They’ve already said in TN if a woman is raped and has an abortion, the family members of the rapist can sue the victim for $10,000. Insane.

Republicans are declaring war on women! Hell, it's a war on everyone who isn’t a cis, white male. Everyone else is under fire.
Once they outlaw abortion, same sex marriage and birth control will be their next targets.

@LeopoldBloom You know it's coming, they're not going to stop just at abortion.
Randi1125 · 31-35, F
@LeopoldBloom That's my fear.
@Randi1125 However, those will be much harder to attack. Birth control is very popular, and annulling same-sex weddings would be a logistical and legal nightmare. It's more likely that the anti-abortion forces will shift to attempting to outlaw abortion nationwide. If the Republicans win the White House and control of both houses of Congress in 2024, I would expect them to eliminate the filibuster and ram through as much fascist legislation as they can get away with, and a national ban on abortion would definitely be part of that.

I feel like it's basically the same as r-pe. I don't have a husband but I feel like there's something icky about women/males deciding if I use birth control or not, it's like they want to know if he cums in me or something. And that's just kind of weird to me and icky. It makes me feel s-xually violated. They're r-pists, period.

@SatanBurger

Eww, I've never looked at it from that perspective. You're right though.

I also think they want women barefoot, pregnant, in the kitchen, and submissive to men. Gross
SatanBurger · 36-40, FVIP
@Randi1125 It's always made me feel violated, if I had majority pull I'd honestly take anti abortion or anti birth control advocates to court and legit argue that stance in court. I don't think it would pass but it's a moral stance that is both logical and rational the more you get into it for multiple reasons.

I never thought the US could regress like it is. That's my fault for thinking that. That privileged mindset of thinking “it could never happen here” is exactly what got us here.

It's more of a statement about the people who put her in office.

@Northwest

or gerrymandering
Northwest · M
@Randi1125 Gerrymandering works for the House, not the Senate. But yes, there's plenty of gerrymandering going on in Southern states.

@Northwest

Oh! I didn't know that. Two things I've learned today. ❤️
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
What were her reasons for that statement? She may be right legally. I don't know.
Randi1125 · 31-35, F
@SatanBurger

I'm as confused as you.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Randi1125 Neither right is expressly written in the constitution. Therefore the ruling was 'reading in'.

@hippyjoe1955

okie doke
It’s absolutely bonkers the height these crazies will go to …they discriminate against God’s children in the name of God. Can’t get any hypocritical than this! 🙄

@SW-User me too
I am aware of her. Please keep in mind, there is an elderly gentleman who suffers dementia from sporting in the sun a bit too often, who will call you a liar.

@CorvusBlackthorne

Haha!!! I'm aware of this gentleman.
