Regardless of political party do you think upon conviction of election/voter fraud the sentence should only be the maximum with no plea bargain allowed?
@MarineBob Only plea bargains if it leads to convictions farther up the food chain. Otherwise full maximum in a real prison, not the white collar crime country clubs, if they were the hypocrites screaming election fraud while doing it themselves.
@SomeMichGuy this battle cry "stolen election" has had far reaching effects on our system. All the while, it's republicans that are being shown to be frauds. Who'd of thunk it?
@MarineBob Tracey Kay McKee of Scottsdale has admitted to signing her late mother’s name on one and mailing it in, said the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.
A plea agreement recommends McKee be sentenced to probation with no more than 90 days in jail, fined about $2,000 and spend 100 hours doing community service.
In Cochise County, Krista Michelle Conner is accused of signing her late mother’s name and submitting her early ballot.
The Arizona Secretary of State’s Office said Conner and McKee are both registered as Republicans.
@Carla that was only one case there might be more. still not enough election fraud to change the outcome. yet. they will get better i am sure. edited for fun.. republican zombies on the rise.
@markansas it does concern me. The right has used the idea of unchecked and prolific voter fraud as their reasoning behind voting restrictions. The gerrymandering is done by both parties. Maybe better by the right...
@Carla here is what texas is doing right now. Here’s how Texas Republicans crafted one of the most politically and racially skewed maps of this redistricting cycle.[image deleted]By re-gerrymandering, Republicans were able to lock in a lopsided 24–14 advantage for Republicans in a state that is increasingly becoming a central battleground.
@markansas between this and installing officials that are perfectly willing to refuse and reverse results, and making it very difficult for marginalized communities to vote, i think this is the most egregious form of voter fraud. It turns the entire system fraudulent.
@SomeMichGuy One man, one vote, or one person, one vote, expresses the principle that individuals should have equal representation in voting. [image deleted]this would fix gerrymandering on both sides.
@markansas
One man, one vote, or one person, one vote, expresses the principle that individuals should have equal representation in voting.
Yes. I have been aware of this for decades.
this would fix gerrymandering on both sides.
Well, no. The gerrymandering does not get rid of votes...but it dilutes the voice of multiple votes.
As long as we have representatives, there will have to be a choosing of how to draw districts.
I think it should be an open-source computer program which anyone can run.
HOWEVER ..
Direct election of nationally-elected officials, and national election laws in Amendments, would be great.
The nonsense of trying to get votes only in some places would tend to go away, and California Republicans, rural Democrats, etc., would not have their votes hidden.
And the attempt to screw with votes would be much harder.
And if we fix how $ gets into elections, THAT will fix MANY things...
