Please Support the Ukrainian Armed Forces Any Way You Can.

https://bank.gov.ua/en/about/support-the-armed-forces
If you have money, please support those brave men and women who fight against the Russian tyranny in Ukraine. Innocent, freedom-loving people are killed every single minute by those butchers and their servants. Let's not just talk and talk and talk. Let's do anything we can do.
Put your money where your heart is. Please do not look away.

British army surplus left after Afghanistan is being cleared wholesale out and sent east. Kevlar, body armour, helmets, medical kits stretchers etc. After all unit and nationality insignias have been removed.

Apparently Ukrainian nationals in the U.K. and some British veterans are traveling in small groups to join the fighting.

@helenS It’s not been said clearly but apparently there has been an investigative team set by the government to identify and stop money being moved in the capital by supporters of Putin’s regime. Organisations found to be attempting to circumnavigate it “will face dire consequences”, so we’ll see.
helenS · 36-40, F
@WintaTheAngle I would assume those oligarchs pay a lot of taxes in London, so they have been more than welcome, until now.
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
@helenS If theyre paying tax theyre not unwelcome. But the Ukraine is a game changer.
VirginMatchmaker · 46-50, M
@helenS the problem is that nobody is stepping in because of Russia and their nukes. So we're letting Genocide happen to save ourselves. It's not right what the Russians are doing and have to be held accountable. The only way that can happen is Militarily unless the Russian public lynch Putin.
During World War II countries didn't commit and look what Germany did. We have to learn lessons from the past. Freedom always has a high cost but it's one that Ukraine need.
If we don't go into Ukraine then it's the start of a new Cold War and there will be an arms race. So either way things have changed forever.

@VirginMatchmaker
So we're letting Genocide happen to save ourselves.
I think this is no longer true. Apparently Western countries decided to ruin the Russian economy to such an extent that they will no longer be able to wage another war. And that appears to be successful, and it's only the beginning. Of course it won't help Ukraine now, but I firmly believe that in a couple of years, Russia will be nothing more than a huge North Korea, drowning in misery and poverty, no longer being a threat to peaceful countries.
VirginMatchmaker · 46-50, M
@helenS well I certainly hope you're correct. In the meantime Ukraine will have a puppet government and their country in ruins. Putin hopefully is killed by someone in his own government.
helenS · 36-40, F
@VirginMatchmaker I don't believe it's just Mr Putin though. Being a "super power" has been a Russian state doctrine for a long time. Russia is the only country on the planet that is able to pose a serious nuclear threat to America. In fact Russia is just an authoritarian third world country with a lot of natural resources and an oversized military machine.

If they keep fighting until June they already won. Russia will be in huge recession for years , inflation will be like 50% and interest rates 40% . Even if they try to trade with Asia by currency swipe it may cause huge losses for countries who accept Rubles. Rubles will be at free fall and even without Putin it will take at least a decade to recover. Even if they really on China for import things will be very expensive there. Russia relies on food export from Turkey and Turkey relies on gas from Russia . Both countries are close to go down.
Khenpal1 · M
@helenS This war is sponsored by Germany , it is with their money Russia runs this war.
helenS · 36-40, F
@Khenpal1 Yes 😐
I believe that in a year or so Germany (and Europe in general) will no longer buy Russian energy sources. I understood that German Chancellor Sholz (or whatever that misled guy's name may be) tried to veto any significant sanctions during the first days of the war - he must have received a phone call from across the pond, so he changed his mind accordingly.

@helenS Power stations run on gas , it will take years to convert them

As a Polish citizen, I should do more. I feel that I should take in an Ukranian refugee under my roof. However, I live in a studio apartment with zero privacy. There is space for only one bed. My funds are low, so I feel that I can't make a financial or time-wise donation to the cause.

My city of Wrocław is showing support. Municipal busses and trams are flying the Ukrainian flag. A news anchor had a subtle yet noticeable ribbon in Ukranian colours.
Lanyx · 41-45, M
@helenS I am certain that some sort of opportunity will arise to assist Ukraine.
helenS · 36-40, F
@Lanyx 🌷👍

@helenS I do have a suggestion for all: Please do not capitalise russia or putin. Ukraine should be capitalised. Lets belittle russia in social media.
VirginMatchmaker · 46-50, M
@HootyTheNightOwl it's only in the last few years that Russian planes have been coming close to UK Airspace again. They've never ever actually been in it. So although the Cold War didn't officially end it's not been as frosty.
During the 1980s the UK spent 5% of GDP on our armed forces we had around 60 Frigates and Destroyers. Now we spend 2% and have just 17 currently. All the Destroyers are in Port and 2 are in Birkenhead being repaired.
But it's not just us who've doesn't less and now Russia have done what they have spending has to increase to ensure Russia doesn't think about invading the EU again.
masterofyou · 70-79, M
I have Helen... its so 😔 sad..
helenS · 36-40, F
@masterofyou Thank you 💋
masterofyou · 70-79, M
@helenS pray for them too and pray for our country to wake up and do the right thing and not buy oil from the Russians
VirginMatchmaker · 46-50, M
We should be sending troops in because it's the best way to help them.
@VirginMatchmaker Troops are the last thing we should send. Guns and money only.
@VirginMatchmaker I agree... if Putin wants war - let's give him a war to remember.
VirginMatchmaker · 46-50, M
@HootyTheNightOwl exactly. Two can play his game.
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
One of the best ways to help would be to ci tact your local branch of the Red Cross.

They are guaranteed to be involved and alleviate peoples fears of con artists cashing in on conflict zones.
ididntknow · 51-55, M
@WintaTheAngle I think that was sorted Sunday morning with 30 cruise missiles 20 miles from the polish border
MartikaDuponte1 · 36-40, F
I've done what I can, which is support by sending money.

doong · 56-60, M

helenS · 36-40, F

@Condiment It's in America's own best interest to break the neck of the only country which can catastrophically destroy the US in a full-force nuclear attack.
How about yes.
