Do you think politicians inherently evil?

No, of course not. A lot of politicians get into politics, at least in part, because they want to make a difference, to make the world a better place. Sure, maybe some become seduced by the power and being in the spotlight — even in a small office like the local school board or what have you — but what most realize is that to do anything or get anywhere requires diplomacy and compromise, both of which can sometimes be less than savory for everyone involved.

Unfortunately, we live in a time when both have been demonized to the point where it's all but impossible for a dedicated, pragmatic politician to make any progress without at least giving lip service to the lunatic fringe on either the left or the right.
