I did. He reduced the exemption for my state taxes. For 2020 I not only had to pay the biggest additional fed taxes in years, I also had to start paying quarterly estimated taxes for 2021.

@dancingtongue I get it, you expect everyone else to pay your state taxes for you, instead of examining your state budget for graft and corruption. Ingenious way to avoid paying attention to your responsibilities as a voter

@sunsporter1649 We pay our own way which is why we have the 6th largest economy in the world, if we could shed the rest of the states. And in addition, we get a net loss on our Federal taxes because they go to prop up all those red states with low taxes and no regulations.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@dancingtongue Then why do you insist on living in such a screwed up state?

dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@sunsporter1649 We've been down this road before. I respond with facts about our budget surplus, our strong economy, and you keep trotting out tired old cartoons from how far back?

@dancingtongue You continue to live there, so you must approve

🤣🤣

Commiefornia has a state deficit bigger than many countries, and spends more federal funding than most states combined (and blows it on idiotic social programs rather than the infrastructure that it's intended for)

@dancingtongue when your state is over 500 billion in debt, making a few billion the next year doesn't make it a surplus... 🤣
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@wildbill83 Most households, businesses, and governments carry debt as a way of spreading out the cost over a period of time. The payments on that debt are figured into their budgets.
The state's annual “Fiscal Outlook,” released Wednesday, predicts a $31 billion surplus for the 2022 budget year that begins July 1. The analyst's office says state is on pace to have so much money that it could exceed a constitutional limit on state spending by $26 billion over three years. That could require Gov. Gavin Newsom and state lawmakers to either cut taxes, spend more money on infrastructure or — perhaps the most popular choice in an election year — give rebates to taxpayers and spend more on public schools.
@wildbill83
spends more federal funding than most states combined
When you are the largest economy, largest population, largest industry in the nation, the needs tend to be bigger than the four or five states that could fit inside your borders. Doesn't change the fact that we still pay more in Federal taxes than what we get back in Federal spending. Unlike red states that depend upon the Feds to pay their infrastructure costs for them.

@sunsporter1649 Looks good. How much CO2 does it generate?
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@hippyjoe1955 Quite a bit, I would imagine. The trees will love it.

@sunsporter1649 I agree but the greenies hate life and everything associated with it including plant food!
