Your premise is a lie. I am by no means rich, and do not own or head a corporation. Yet under the GOP tax cuts, i have actually been paying in $2400 less per year in taxes.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@PrivateHell Ok. So an anecdote suddenly becomes the rule? Nearly all those cuts for the middle class have sunset clauses and 83% of the benefits of his tax cuts go to the top 1%. That is a fact.
PrivateHell · M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow not an anecdote if i am not even close to being the only one who benefitted (as even you loosely acknowledge by talking about the tax cuts for the middle class, making you original premise a lie).
Sunsets or not, it is still more than the Democrats (remember Pelosi's stupid "crumbs" statement) has done for anyone.
And, just curious here... when was the last time you got a job from a homeless person or welfare recipient?

You may pay less PrivateHell...but since Trumps 2017 cuts...we went from getting back 3500 a year to paying in 3500 each yr.
Trumps tax cuts actually shifted 1 trillion to the middle class as the 1% got a nice cut

@PrivateHell An anecdote and an opinion are not facts. Sorry.
And that is some serious mental gymnastics.
Unfortunately the facts over several decades state otherwise. Get over your blind partisanship.
Lol. And you are seriously going to go with the "job creator" billionaire worship bullshit?
Nowhere has tax cuts for the wealthy ever resulted in jobs for anyone so that point is idiotic ideological nonsense. The number 1 impact of tax cuts for the rich is stock buy backs which fun fact, was illegal till Ronny Ray Gun came along.

@PTCdresser57 at least Trump acknowledged there is a middle class. For years before him, we were ignored or targeted.
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
I am 63 and don't remember being ignored PrivateHell..I can go back as far as Reagan and he acknowledged the middle class.
PrivateHell · M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow "blind partisanship"... hello pot, meet kettle.
"Mental gymnastics"... ditto.
It's not worship. It's acknowledging the facts (something I get the feeling you are unfamiliar with). Jobs do not exist in a vacuum, they are not created by pixie dust, wishing upon stars or having faith in the government. They are created when a person or business is allowed to succeed enough to require additional help. Sorry, but there ain't no Santa Claus.
Okay, you made the assertion, now the burden of proof is on you. Prove to me that no company in history has even expanded (which requires hiring more people) after receiving a tax cut. It does happen, which means you were sold (and are trying to sell) yet another lie.

@PTCdresser57 well then good for you, but there are plenty of us out here that can remember. In fact we have born names like "the forgotten man" and the "silent majority" as evidence over the last few decades.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@PrivateHell No, I am just stating facts and you are just responding with random anecdotes and opinions because Republican. Not the same thing.
I am sorry if the facts don't fit your ideology.
No, it is just blind worship and is not based on any facts at all and is just more right wing fairytales that have never proven true. And your follow up is funny because your entire premise is based on the myth that Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk are Santa essentially.
And apparently you need a lesson in the difference between correlation and causation.
And again you don't even have that much. I am sorry reality doesn't match Ayn Rand's fantasies.

@PrivateHell When you have tax cuts for the rich and large corporations we see one thing consistently over and over and over.
1. stock buy backs which artificially inflate stock prices.
2. A stock market bubble resulting from point one.
And the rest gets offshored.
Or in other words zero real world value.

First of all, you are so caught up in your false dialectic, you couldn't even begin to fathom that there are more than just two sides here. I am not a Republican, and just because I agree with them on this issue does not make me one. Thankfully, that is not up to you to decide, because you are in no way qualified to define me.
Every time you mention the word "facts" i don't know whether to laugh hysterically, or throw up in my mouth a little. So far, all i have seen from you is a denial and refusal of even the most basic common sense. If the truth were for sale, you would lie about the price.
I have never (nor will ever) claimed that Billionaires are saints or perfect people. I won't even say they aren't selfish and greedy. But what I will say, is they are vital to our consumer driven economy and our job market. To claim otherwise is just plain stupid. Think what you want about Bezos and Musk, but it is because of them that hundreds of thousands to millions of people are employed. How many hundreds of thousands have you given a job to?
I'm still waiting for someone on the left to rationally ](and there is my mistake) explain how my paying more in taxes, having fewer job opportunities and paying more for gas and groceries is a good thing for me and my family.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow still, where is the proof that tax cuts do not create jobs? You made the assertion and still have not furnished a scrap of evidence.
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
PrivateHell...between 2012 and 2019 2-2.5 million jobs created per year. In 2019 there was a drastic decline in hiring. The so called"rocket ship" of hiring Trump touted about his 2017 tax cuts never appeared. Also the reinvestments by companies declined by 251 million dollars a year by 2019.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@PrivateHell Proof? Decades of tax cuts and zero evidence of causation with jobs. That is the proof. Very simple stuff.
The only evidence of causation between tax cuts is with buy backs and stock bubbles.

@PTCdresser57 "declined" but did not stop entirely.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@PrivateHell And now you are moving the goal posts.
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
They declined to the lowest level in 2019 since 2011 which only add 1.6 million for all of 2011 .PrivateHell..also unemployment rate was 9.1%
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@PrivateHell Your entire argument was that tax cuts create jobs and business investment. Their example shows the exact opposite occurred.
If your premise was true that would not be possible.

@PrivateHell
not an anecdote
I don't see you providing any evidence, apart from your own opinion and unverifiable personal story. What else should @PicturesOfABetterTomorrow call it?
