We coulda stayed there for ten years if we wanted. They couldn't have done a damn thing. We ran. I think he wanted to run because he wanted to look good today. And I wanted that ended more than anyone and for a longer period of time. We shoulda never been there, frankly. We shoulda never gotten into that quicksand. Trillions of dollars, millions of lives if you look at both sides [erroneous]. But if you get out, you have to get out with honor, dignity, strength, and victory. We woulda had victory. And he turned victory into a total embarrassment.
In other words, we stay in until we achieve victory over the Taliban. 🤦‍♂️ So the goal under the Obama Administration, right? Just stay in there another decade, hope we'll finally have victory then. The man has no principles, but we knew that already.

Right, we accepted the defeat but we should have taken that with glory and honor, not like getting killed, leaving everything over there.

It looked like we are in a hurry as if we lacked the resources being a third world country.

@SW-User There's no glory in defeat, comrade. And given all the shit that happened as we left, it seemed like being in a hurry was appropriate.

@SW-User It took 15 years... maybe longer... to get out. That's hardly "in a hurry." Based on history, any additional delay would only have meant another good 5 to 10 years. The problem, as I see it, is the American people want a beautifully precise closure when life does not always conform to that kind of ending.
