And now?

U.S. is worried ISIS-K may launch terrorist attack at Kabul airport

The U.S. Embassy in Kabul on Wednesday warned citizens there to avoid traveling to the airport and stay away from certain gates, citing “security threats” in the area.

The security alert told Americans to avoid the area “unless you receive individual instructions from a U.S. government representative” to travel to the Hamid Karzai International Airport.

“U.S. citizens who are at the Abbey Gate, East Gate, or North Gate now should leave immediately,” the embassy added. ...

The security warnings come as U.S. military and intelligence analysts have been warning of threats from ISIS-K, an affiliate of the Islamic State that is a sworn enemy to both the U.S. and the Taliban.

@beckyromero 4 of the 5 raghead terrorists traded for that traitor are now running Afghanistan, see a correlation?

That would be suicidal on the part of the Taliban. They know that we are in that airport and what we are doing there.

To do anything that puts British and/or US lives at risk is only going to send us back to war against the Taliban again.

I doubt that the only planes in the Kabul area are just passenger planes. We will have the means to fight back in the event that the Taliban go back on their word.

We won't be sitting idly by, looking the other way if the Taliban does decide to try going Armageddon on our citizens.

There's no appetite to go back in.

We'd probably even back up Taliban claims when they say they don't condone the attack which may be carried out by ISIS-K, according to the latest intelligence worries.

There's no appetite to go back in.

My point isn't that complex to grasp. Regardless of "the appetite to go back in", you still won't be patting the Taliban on the back and saying "You got a perfect bullseye" in the event that they hit a plane or two after it leaves the runway.

There will likely be some sort of retaliation for that.

There will likely be some sort of retaliation for that.

Oh, sure. A few cruise missiles will be lobbed over and end up killing some goats here and there. And maybe will hit the airbase will built.

That will be about it.

Until the next big terrorist attack.

Those released were Taliban though, right?
These guys are enemies of the taliban.
Regardless, talking the Afghanis into releasing those prisoners was insane.
At least until after we were out.
