Should Hospitals have the right to turn away Covid patients from those who have chosen to be unvaccinated?

Why should someone who makes the decision to not be vaccinated take a bed and be treated from someone who has taken precautions and had a breakthrough case?
Shouldn't the unvaccinated just stay home and deal with this virus on their own?

public hospitals cannot turn away any patient under law. private hospitals can turn away a patient in a non emergency situation. should be the end of discussion

@fddlpej You do know vaccinated people can spread it to.

@fddlpej That's not refusing care or turning a patient away. That patient now has a chart, a history of being treated and an emergency transfer to a higher level of care. Not the same thing.

@Graylight they did not treat the patient or give the child a ventilator because they didn't have one for her. But I am sure that there was an unvaccinated adult in the hospital on a ventilator. The news is also reporting that hospitals are turning away people now because they don't have the capacity to treat them. So they are making choices. These people who don't get the vaccination don't deserve to have the health care that someone who did what they were supposed to do. Plus if you are going to save someone shouldn't it be the intelligent people who have been smart enough to be vaccinated and don't believe what trump says. By the way Donnie and his wife have received the vaccination already.
@fddlpej doctors don't make a choice based on who's vaccinated or not same as they don't choose who has insurance or the means to pay the bill. they treat on the severity of the illness or sickness. after a patient is stabilized they can transfer them to a hospital that has the facilities to handle them. with helicopter service a distance of a hundred miles is nothing.

@saragoodtimes if the person has covid and hasn't had the vaccination because he has chosen not to get it then he should be last on the list regardless of his condition they have already been a threat to society and most of the non vaxxers are very smug about it. Let them be smug thinking about it as they watch the people who tried to do the right thing getting treatment. They should not get by without paying some kind of price for being smug and stupid. If they live they might get a little smarter and considerate of others.
@fddlpej so you're telling hospitals, doctors and staff to play God. when a patient shows my husband treats. he doesn't care about social status, race, color creed. insurance or ability to pay isn't a consideration health care is. after a patient is stabilized then my husband can make a decision whether he wants to be a patients doctor. all hospitals, staff and doctors here do the same

@saragoodtimes there are plenty of patients right now and I want the ones who deserve the treatment to get it ahead of the ones who said the virus was fake. Let them see how real it is. They are the same kind of people who attacked the capital and tried to take my vote away from me. They don't care about what is right just what they want and if it was reversed they definitely wouldn't care about anyone else and would be far worse than I am.
