Should Hospitals have the right to turn away Covid patients from those who have chosen to be unvaccinated?

Why should someone who makes the decision to not be vaccinated take a bed and be treated from someone who has taken precautions and had a breakthrough case?
Shouldn't the unvaccinated just stay home and deal with this virus on their own?

Well, not getting a vaccine isn’t a criminal act. It’s fair to note, having said that, that hospitals do treat actual criminals - despite the popular opinion of some.

Tsarnaev, the Boston Marathon bomber, is one that jumps quickly to mind because of where I live and work. He (and his brother) were responsible for a terrorist attacking that left 3 dead and 264 injured, some requiring traumatic amputations. He was treated at Beth Israel in Boston for multiple gun shot wounds.

That’s an example of a heinous crime that still is afforded the best care humanly possible. The goal of a hospital isn’t to sit in judgement, it’s to use every asset in their power to make people well.

Though I absolutely blame anti-vaxxers for the spread once a vaccine(s) has become available, they are by no means inherently giving up their right to the same health care afforded to all of us - even the worst, most despicable criminals.
