Should Hospitals have the right to turn away Covid patients from those who have chosen to be unvaccinated?

Why should someone who makes the decision to not be vaccinated take a bed and be treated from someone who has taken precautions and had a breakthrough case?
Shouldn't the unvaccinated just stay home and deal with this virus on their own?

Health service in Uk is free to all at point of use. If you start with vaccines will you move on to smokers, the overweight, drug users etc? It’s a short step from there to deciding if people are ‘worth’ treating based on their value to society.

I’d be dead, 8 year old girls with internal injuries are expensive to fix and don’t pay tax.

@meJess but those things are looked at when deciding who should get an ICU bed if they are short of them. What’s the difference with triaging based on vaccine.

@iamonfire696 should a famous person receive a icu bed for a oops another drug overdose
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@MarineBob yes if there is one but in my province we ran out of ICU beds and had to send patients to other provinces. I think everyone should be given access to treatment but when the time comes that ICU beds are In short supply having had the vaccine or not is a factor of who gets it.

@iamonfire696 triage is based on survival chances not choices an individual may have previously made. An unvaccinated person may have greater chance of survival than a vaccinated one in some circumstances.

@meJess I know that, I work in healthcare. Having had the vaccine or not is factored into that criteria.

@iamonfire696 as are a number of other factors, triage is survival chances based on all evidence not just a vaccine.

@meJess no kidding

@meJess if you have taken the vaccine you probably won't be in triage so you will eliminate that problem.
