I thought the penalty for treason was death. Why are all these traitors still alive and walking the streets?
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@independentone Death is one of the penalties for treason, but there are lesser penalties as well. Most of the Trump Cult Insurrectionists weren't charged with treason, like this guy.
@windinhishair As far as I'm concerned, anyone who voted for Trump should be charged with Treason

@independentone Seems a touch overzealous 🤔
@QuixoticSoul Yeah, but think how much stronger this country would be if the Trump supporters were gone.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@independentone You’d depopulate huge swathes of it.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@independentone so, the only echo chambers in the US are occupied by Trump supporters and Republicans? Is that what you are saying?
@JoeyFoxx Not at all, the far left is slmost as bad as the Trump people. My problem is with the red states, they don't really contribute to the country, they all take more in taxes than they pay in. I'm tired of my tax dollars going to support these lazy, good for nothing Trump people.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@independentone there are plenty of rich folk who support the Orange menace and many of them live in blue states.

There are many red states that are agriculture heavy that grow the food the rest of us need, but don’t seem willing to pay for, so those farmers get government subsidies.

Your blanket characterizations of people suggest that you are in an echo chamber but lack self awareness
@JoeyFoxx Farmers should not be subsidized, if they can't make a profit, they should go out of business and let someone who knows how to farm take over.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@independentone should that logic be applied to any individual who is getting government assistance?
@JoeyFoxx If they are attempting to stay on welfare for life, then yes. I have no problem with a helping hand, but not a permanent handout. That goes for welfare rats as well as farmers.
dakotaviper · 56-60, M
@independentone have you ever been a farmer? I have and it's not as easy as you think. It's also not a get rich quick scheme either.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@dakotaviper I don’t think anyone says it’s easy. But if you can’t make it without subsidies... 🤷‍♂️

Personally, I’m all right with this sort of socialism for strategic reasons, but then again I am not terrified of the commie menace so this is not an especially hypocritical stance.
dakotaviper · 56-60, M
@QuixoticSoul many view farmers as being very wealthy parasites who also are predominately uneducated. They don't realize that over 95% of Farmers don't get paid for their wares until it is sold at market at the end of the year. My Dad doesn't and he has already had 4 cuttings of alfalfa hay so far this year.

@independentone For trespassing?
@MarmeeMarch Go back to sucking off those farmers you love so much. Now go away wimp
@HoraceGreenley For attempting to overthrow the government
@dakotaviper Nope, never been a farmer, I have skills and don't need to be some dirt merchant to survive.
