They did a stellar job on the prosecution just from a law perspective.

@HannahSky Yeah, they really did.

@MarkPaul I'm glad we were able to watch it.

@HannahSky That's because both sides agreed to it. It was very educational. For the woman-cop who used a gun instead of a taser by mistake, her lawyer has rejected the request to allow cameras when that case comes to trial.

@MarkPaul oh, I didn't know that. I don't like when cameras turn it into a circus, but in some cases it is ok to have the cameras.

@HannahSky Yeah, that's where the judge comes in, in terms of keeping "order in court." But, the risk is that it gives everyone looking for camera time of their own to get in the way. I praised the prosecution, but the judge also did an outstanding job as well.

@MarkPaul yes, he definitely sets the tone, it's his courtroom ⚖
@MarkPaul Honestly, with her, I'm on the fence. Besides the color, which she couldn't see with her eye on the suspect, the trigger looks similar.

1. Nothing the guy did justified the kind of force from a taser or a gun especially when they had all the information they needed if they needed to pick him up later.
2. Trying to handcuff a suspect in front of an open car door is a rookie mistake. The rookies literally encouraged him to try to escape. As a seasoned officer she should have interceded on that, not to pull a weapon.
3. A seasoned officer reminds himself/herself each day and every moment that they are putting people's lives in their hands, literally. She should have had the wits to mentally check which weapon she was using. That's the community trust she is being given to carry lethal weapons.
4. That guy was behind the wheel of an "ignited" car. No matter what weapon she thought she was engaging, using the weapon while he was behind the wheel was reckless, negligent, and unforgivable because of the risk to others if he put the car in drive and hit the gas... which he did, crashing into another victim.
5. She had better options and she chose the worst one.
