I did not really have strong feelings about this before, and do not really have them now. Manufacturers that return to the US tend to have a piddly amount of jobs because they lean hard into automation. I mean, it seems nice in theory but in practice not so much.
An additional note is that this does increase government spending. One company went out and made an identical of their product purely in the USA. Same product, over $1000 more expensive to get the made in USA one. https://shop.puri.sm/
Trust me, those aren't labor costs raising the price like that. It is largely material sourcing, and likely a bit of padding to make up for an expected lower sales volume.
