So...no national healthcare?

All we hear is folks will have to stand in line. Choices to turn away very ill patients. Whatever.
But the choices that folks are making...not wearing masks, joining gatherings with no precautions, thumbing noses at sound scientific evidence, irresponsible state leaders...these things are happening right now. And guess whose fault it is? It's your fault (you know who you are).
And, btw...this free vaccine? Pffft. Pfizer has just raised prices on other meds. Guess who pays for that?

Was uncertain if this is healthcare or political. So...in to the go to🤷‍♀️

Waiting in line for food or gas and everyone will cry communism. But waiting in line to see the doctor and then being forced to choose what body part to save due to not being able to afford better and that is Perfect Grand Miracle Patriotic America.

@canusernamebemyusername So move to cubar, no gas problem there, and FREE medical care.

Carla · 61-69, F
@canusernamebemyusername with the dollars of corporate welfare(socialism) we spend each year, we could provide healthcare to everyone that needs it.
1490wayb · 56-60, M
@Carla never heard of corporate welfare...what is it??
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@1490wayb All of your tax money that goes into subsidies for the big corporations.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@dancingtongue Like the $3 billion for "tree equity"?
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@sunsporter1649 Nope. As we have discussed before, that is an environmental investment to make up for the raping of the environment that corporations already have done.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@dancingtongue You mean you are going to give $3 billion directly to the trees? For what, door dahs to deliver hamburgers?
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@sunsporter1649 As you know, the trees are critical in maintaining air quality and combating climate change. And we have been steadily destroying them for decades. This assures that there will be at least net zero impact on forest erosion due to the infrastructure construction projects.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@dancingtongue The trees are getting the money? What they gonna buy with it?
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@sunsporter1649 Yep. Just like when you go to the nursery, give your money to the plants you choose, and hand them your address so they know where to show up. THAT'S SARCASM, FOLKS
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@dancingtongue So you support government subsidies to private corporations, eh?
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@sunsporter1649 I see a big difference between government INVESTMENT in major projects that advance our communities and nation which would not be profitable enough to interest private investors, and giving tax loopholes and major subsidies to corporations for things that are going to do anyway because they are profitable. The number of profitable companies paying little or no taxes because of subsidies is absurd. Government trying to invest in what is best for the country rather than the corporations is not.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@dancingtongue Who decides which corporation's are entitled to tax "loopholes" and who is not?
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@sunsporter1649 Well, the Constitution states Congress does. But then they never envisioned that the members of Congress would be owned by corporate campaign funding and lobbyists. There are legitimate reasons for both subsidies and tax breaks to corporations to provide incentives, or help offset risks, for high risk endeavors in the best interests of the nation and its communities. But we are far beyond that, where corporations feel entitled to take no risks and not have to pay any taxes for the infrastructure they rely on to do business. And just once it would be nice to hear those of you who scream socialism and welfare cheats about anything to help people actually would scream the same on the even bigger bucks going into corporate welfare where it is not needed at all.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@dancingtongue Then why do you keep voting for the demonocrats who are doing their best to perpetuate the porkulus in those two bullschiff bills in congress right now?

dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@sunsporter1649 Well, I don't know whose ballots you have been sifting through but clearly not mine. I don't vote a straight party ticket. Never have.
