Most protesters never met the person standing next to them until an hour earlier. They came together to support one thing, not to support everything every individual there ever did. That man or his crimes before the protest don't represent what the group stands for.

I don't defend his actions, but this is being reported only by right-wing media at the moment. Further, there is no verification or context. Thirdly, if we're going to start examining every individuals personal moral character, you're in for a long, deep descent. I'm sure there were people there who haven't paid their taxes, who defraud the elderly, who drive recklessly or steal things. No doubt there's a domestic abuser and probably a drug seller. This is possible on all sides.
