One thing that concerns me is that, even if Trump were to refuse to leave the White House after losing, it isn't the duty of the armed forces to do anything about it. It would be the duty of federal law enforcement officials.

But there I go again, expecting legal norms to be respected.

Well, Trump has strongly implied that even if he were to lose he doesn’t plan to accept the decision, since he thinks the only way he could lose is with “dishonest dealings” (in other words, the way he’d [b]win[/b], but from the other party). So it looks like these folks are taking him seriously.
We’re definitely living in interesting times. These people served their country faithfully and were loyal to its government. Now they’re actually having to be concerned that a president might have to be removed by force.

I hope he does choose to give his acceptance speech at Gettysburg, maybe that will be too obvious a dog whistle call to regnite a civil war for the voters still on the fence about him.

I'd go further and suggest that, thankfully, the kind of people leading the US military still take their oaths as sacred, and if Trump tries to corrupt them, not all of them will be above the time-honoured military tradition of fragging a delusional superior officer.

The US dollar is going plummet when this starts.
