Why would Joe Biden make a good President?

Let's try an actual answer this time. He's not Trump is just a lazy BS answer. Surely you great Liberal Democrats can give an actual real response and not the inane drivel you usually spout.

You still have not got a proper answer
I think the Biden supporters only care about winning and power
Not much talk about policies
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant Or simply go for "the lesser of two evils" principle, at least the majority of those I interacted with so far.
revenant · F
@Elessar what does Biden propose ?
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@revenant Bingo!
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant Removing someone who addresses over 1000 deaths/day with « it is what it is » from power. For many, that'd be enough.
revenant · F
@Elessar Trump aside. What are Biden's policies
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant I'm not discussing them, I'm discussing and disagreeing with:
I think the Biden supporters only care about winning and power
Whoever I encountered who'll vote Biden will because that's pretty much the only choice they have to contain damage.
revenant · F
@Elessar you see you do not know
I find that dangerous
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant No, as I said I'm not discussing them, I'm simply stating that at this point in time even a vegetable would look like a better option for many, and I can kind of see why.
revenant · F
@Elessar right but methink the votes should go with some scrutiny and no based on stupid emotional stuff.

Better be aware of who is in charge of the purse strings
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant Well, unfortunately that's the biggest flaw of their electoral system. If you don't like one of the two major choices you'll necessarily have to go for the other, not vote altogether, or hope that a miracle happens and one of the minor parties all of a sudden becomes relevant to the point of winning.
revenant · F
@Elessar meanwhile I am still waiting for concrete stuff about taxes and jobs and industry.
Will people be able to feed their kids.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant You mean, there in the U.S. or here in France/Europe? Good luck to us all 😬
revenant · F
@Elessar The US presidency will affect the world and particularly europe. Europe is already a mess as it is so no need to make it worse.

Leftist policies are about to give free stull to whoever wants it even those who do not deserve it.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant As if right-wing ones are any better, look what 20 years of Berlusconi did over here. Not to mention Mussolini's back in the previous century.

And yeah, they affect us, their tariffs are damaging us in fact.
revenant · F
@Elessar I already asked the question about Trump being Hitler and no one could give me a good answer to that and nobody has been able to give me directions to the new gas chambers.

That aside again......people ought to be pragmatic and look into Economic Policies
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant But in fact I'm speaking about economic policies, not holocaust, that has nothing to do with it.
revenant · F
@Elessar and what were they ? I do not have much of a clue here
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant Mussolini? Autarky/isolationism, protectionism, corporatism, state capitalism. It went through different phases, and they aimed to be sort of a "third way", alternative to liberalism and socialism. It crumbled on itself, especially once we entered WW2. I suggest some in-depth reading if you're interested about the matter, because it's too complex to be treated here as a comment, and also it occurred during a complex and rapidly changing historic context, almost a century ago no less.

Berlusconi instead, in more recent times and as the head of right-wing coalitions for over two decades, as you probably know, pushed a lot of controversial measures that were aiming to be popular among the electorate and guarantee him re-election, and/or benefit his own and other affiliates' industrial groups (as someone said: capitalism for the poor, socialism for the rich) or even the mafia (e.g. "dell'Utri" case), at the same time rising the public debt and spread to unsustainable levels, which caused the fall of his last (4th) govt, and had long-term consequences we're still working to fix.
revenant · F
@Elessar do not hear about Italy much. What you wrote is not saying much to me. I like to see how applied economics work
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant Well, both policies were applied and destructive enough.
revenant · F
@Elessar who has been letting the fake refugees on boat recently ?
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant What does that have anything to do with the economic policing?

But speaking of that, the alt-right populists here (Salvini) were in the majority coalition for one year (spring 2018 - summer 2019) before they threw themselves out of the window, and in spite of all the anti-migrant campaign when they were at the opposition they've done absolutely nothing to fix the problem. They instead pushed the umpteenth useless electoral gift, i.e. anticipating the retirement age. And thankfully they weren't in charge amid the pandemic, considering the guy says one thing one day and the opposite thing the next day, depending on the direction of the wind I guess.
revenant · F
@Elessar did not Salvini want to stop the human trafficking business from Africa?
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant Yeah, just like I want to end hunger in the world. Everybody is good at speaking, but when it comes to really working towards solving a situation for real, few can do.

As a plus, the migrant crisis is precisely what gets him votes, you can imagine how much he'd be interested in solving the issue for real. 😅
