Trump Campaign Account Banned from Twitter

One of the Trump Twitter accounts has been temporarily removed by Twitter over an interview where Trump himself makes claims that children are virtually immune to Covid 19. Twitter say the account will remain closed until the offending video is removed..
What to make a bet the Twit in chief will not be a happy camper and want Twitter sold off immediately?

Why is he still making such ignorant, uninformed claims ? And why are his supporters listening to him ? 🤦🏽‍♀️
He’s not a freaking doctor.

@bijouxbroussard Hes not actually a successful busineman either.. But that hasnt stopped him. Snake Oil is selling well this year..
@bijouxbroussard He's not even freaking human
Wow...tell that to the parents who lost their 9 year old daughter to the virus. What is wrong with him?

@latinbutterfly If that little girl's parents were Trump supporters, I would doubt that they are now.

Facebook and Twitter drew a line in the sand. Possibly driven by the public good or maybe just the pressure. Particularly for Facebook. But it's going to be interesting to see how this plays out. I can see Trump turning it in to a First Amendment / They're All Against You platform like right now. Any diversion is a good diversion.
It's about effin time Twitter stopped giving that chronic liar a platform.

@Cinnaman The same can be said of this place. I really dont have an issue with him lying his @$$ off there. But then I dont accept every word of his as Gospel...

See, twitter has noo right to from the standpoint of fair use to Police peoples opinions. Its a Platform, not an ethical agency.

@whowasthatmaskedman I,m sure they have the means to, but should they?.Because that drives home a point that you will only speak on this platform what we beleive is right.Long run, its a bad business idea. They can take down his video since it may bring harm to someone.

@johntomSWPhd They have blocked the interview if you read the story link. But I guess their point is to enforce a standard of behaviour. Its not as if he has not been warned before. He also keeps violating music copyrights at his events. He knows damned well hes not supposed to use some material. But hes not big on following rules. So, they upped the ante. My bet is that interview will be gone in no time.

@johntomSWPhd It is a platform but any platform has some responsibility for its content, or it should do.

I'm of the view that we should treat Twitter and Facebook as publishers. Albeit, they are publishers of our words. No credible media outlet would give a platform to dangerous outright falsehoods so neither should Twitter.

As it is, Twitter does have a loose set of guidllines which users regularly break without consequence. That is because Twitter make loads of money from engagement, especially from high profile controvertial users and Donald J Trunp is certainly that. Removing him from Twitter would cost them millions a month so they won't do it. They want to be seen to do the right thing so they do this soft push back which is something but not much.

Im not in favour of shutting down opinions. Let him spout his right wing politics all he likes because that is democracy. Hate speech and dangerous lies should have no place on a public platform though.

Is he even aware of the stuff that comes out of his mouth?
