It Originated there. He may not be tactful but it’s the truth.
@Keepitsimple
Has nothing to do with being tactful and everything to do with harm.
That's WHY the World Health Organization changed the protocol for naming diseases. When you name a disease after a people or country then that population becomes the target for discrimination, violence and economic loss.
Trump has been informed of this. It HURTS people. So why does he still insist on calling it that? Why do his supporters?
Don't they care about the well-being of other human beings?

Normally I would agree with you however they are out to destroy us. Make no mistake about that. They were probably trying to thin the population over there and it went wrong and escaped. This one is ALL them. They were sneaky about what went wrong and caused a worldwide pandemic and countless deaths. It’s the China virus. @Pikachu
@Keepitsimple
So because you buy into a conspiracy that China was trying to hurt America (buy killing their own citzens and apparently counting on Trump to badly mishandle the control), you think it's appropriate that chinese people living in america, american citizens of chinese descent and even japanese and koreans should be attacked, persecuted and bullied?
Explain.

@Pikachu 🤦🏻♀️ I am not even going to answer you. Do not put words in my mouth.
@Keepitsimple Really? Do you not think that the disease is just as economically devastating for China? Have you not seen the maps of its second wave infections?
I'll grant that there is an irony. China did want to reduce its population so much that it introduced the one child population. In practise it was only 50% successful because so many people found ways to subvert it, even at terrible cost to themselves.
Nevertheless, there was a massive increase in the proportion of aged to young people, such that the care of the aged had become a national problem.
This disease, but hitting the elderly the hardest, will actually solve part of that problem for the Chinese.
But I seriously doubt that anyone, even the most psychotic of scientists, would have imagined such a disease as the antidote for an excess of the aged.
If you were going to go down that road, you'd have to say Trump allowed COVID-19 to enter the States because there are too many Baby Boomers and the cost to tax-payers to pay for their pensions and care is too high. Where would that put the Republican-Christians and right-to-lifers who are his base?
The reality is that China is now one of the worst hit countries. It's economy is in trouble due to the need to shut down across scores of hotspots across the nation, and most of them in the most densely populated cities where the country is most dependent on work and trade.

@Keepitsimple fun fact, the Spanish flu actually originated from kansas.

@hartfire I don’t care what happens with China I’m simply saying calling it the China virus isn’t exactly wrong. It started there.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@nowic2 yeah, I read that actually. 😉
@Keepitsimple
calling it the China virus isn’t exactly wrong.
But calling it that causes harm to people, to families, to businesses, NONE of whom have anything to do with the virus.
How is that NOT wrong?
