Trump supporters: Why do you think Trump insists on referring to COVID as "China" or "Wuhan" virus? What is the benefit which outweighs the harm?

Most of the world is calling it COVID. Why is it important to Trump to call it China virus?
When you're referring to it in mixed company do you call it COVID or China virus?

That way he can blame China for it coming to the US between Jan and March... when in fact over 3000000 ppl came into the US from Europe and no one in his administration or health agencies figured that part out until after it exploded in the NY area.

@PTCdresser57 Good thing the mayor and governor shoved all those infected folks into nursing homes or no telling what the death count might have been
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
Ok sunsporter...who advised them to do that??
Lucia · 36-40, T
@PTCdresser57 At least Europe has been reasonably open about what was going on.

But yes the US should have shut their borders to us - the government should have defended its population.

@PTCdresser57 [Oops, more revisionist history coming.] Ok, I give up, just who advised them to kill as many senior citizens as humanly possible?
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
I agree Lucia...we still have president that ignores what is going on here.

Seeing your the smart one sunsporter...go do the dam research and find out and tell me. I am tired of your lame BS that you spew and can't back up with facts.

@PTCdresser57 I just happened to be listening to the radio on March 25th when the governor of new york directed elderly care facilities in the state to accept kung flu sufferers into their facilities, regardless of the facilities ability to properly isolate or care for the patients. Disaster quickly followed

@sunsporter1649 Many people fucked up in this. Trump fucked up. New York fucked up. Many wrongs don't make a right.
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
Wow you are so delusional sunsporter...they were to take the patients back if...and only if...they had PPE...Isolation area..staff available to care for them ...and if not they were to contact the NY DOH and inform them they couldn't at which time the DOH would find a place for them. That is what Coumo and the NY DOH directed them to do based on what the Trump administration...CDC and HIM advised. Do the whole research not on what you think happened. Me and others have tried before to explain it to you before and you still continue to spew your BS.

@PTCdresser57 bullschiff. Read it yourself.

I have watched every Coumo daily briefing and this has been brought up a number of times sunsporter by reporters...each and everytime it was made clear exactly what I said. The NY policy on it...now if nursing homes did not contact the NY DOH and say they couldn't handle covid patients ...then that is on them...not NY DOH or Coumo.

@PTCdresser57 You keep believing that, it amuses us
@sunsporter1649 I read the article you recommended.
It does not explain why you think PTCdresser57's comment is "bullschiff".

There is one serious problem with the article. It makes it seem as though the only problem was the inappropriate choice of aged-care nursing homes for people entering the country while sick with the virus.
It ignores the fact that 3,000,000 people from Europe entered directly into the community. Many were unknowingly infected and infectious, not yet sick or showing any sign of symptoms.
There was no system in place for enforced two-week quarantine to prevent the spread into the wider population.

The article outlines a serious error of judgement and policy committed by the government leaders of New York, New Jersey and California.
All three states currently have Democratic leaders - so it shows that Democrats can make mistakes just as badly as Republicans.

People do blame Trump for not immediately taking the threat of the virus seriously and using his power to close the borders.
But realistically there is responsibility on all sides, including for every individual citizen.
