I think not.

I think first and foremost he is a narcissist.
And then a businessman.
And then a politician.
And then a republican.

I don't think he particularly cares what gives him power and attention as long as he gets it.

Exactly right. There is a reason why more and more Republicans are beginning to distance themselves from this guy.
