People complaining that TN is opening up to early

First of all it exempt the 4 largest cities Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga which has the largest numbers of cases. But even here in Chattanooga the numbers are low and have lessened 131 ppl have been diagnosed 80 of which have recovered. Also now there's only about 2 a day being diagnosed. Most TN counties are seeing no or very few cases same with GA. Which says something about the democrats ran cities and counties in those 4 largest areas. But it's time for people to get back to work. If people continue to be unemployed like this and business closed we're going to lose alot small businesses especially since Nancy pelosi and her goons refuse to cooperate on putting more money toward the small business loans

Higher population density explains the difference in case numbers and deaths. Do you really think the coronavirus knows who is a democrat and who is a republican? That's just ignorance on your part.

We are still in the initial phases of this virus. If you open up because Trump and his goons value the economy over human life, many more people will die. That's just a fact. But you can watch it play out in real time now that republicans are willing to kill people for the economy. Oh, and don't come back later trying to blame Obama, the WHO, the CDC, Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, and anyone and everyone else. It will be you and your Dear Leader and the republican governors who are to blame.

@foggymorning31 A statement based on nothing, supported by nothing. In other words, typical Trump cultist dogma.

Yes, because no one ever travels from or between cities.

The numbers are low because people can't yet be tested and there are often no signs of infection. TN, like the rest of the US, has no idea how many cases there are.

The reason for stay-at-home orders are to keep the numbers low. You don't lift it because of that reason. It's like saying "there are no lions out tonight so we should all eat fresh meat in the open air for dinner."

You're diagnosing 2 a day for the same reason FL is reporting exactly 5 cases a day in our county - there's not enough testing.

GA is rising sharply in cases. Among the steepest in the nation:

The economy means nothing is people are out of work, paying for funerals or shouldering medical expenses. We're not even set for the 2nd - and often deadliest - wave of virus.

Pelosi and her "goons" are fighting for the very same small businesses you claim to care about. But they want to ensure that low-income areas, challenged areas and businesses headed by women and minorities are also protected. You know, that 'taking care of all Americans' thing.

@foggymorning31 Just until conservatives are bankrupt, hopefully.

Hey, did you see the AWESOME job the Great Trumpkin has done to the futures prices for US WTI oil yesterday and today?

He's managed to do something no other PotUS has ever done, another accomplishment really, and that is that oil producers are paying people to take their oil instead of charging them money for it.

Truly it is an economic miracle.

@foggymorning31 Cash flow...health. Small business...life. Lunch out with friends...funerals.

Your choice. But you're a fool to put material goods before life and wellness. Yours and others.
daisymay · 51-55, T
@foggymorning31 Oh, I probably need to be more clear, what, with you being you and all. When I wrote this
Just until conservatives are bankrupt
I didn't mean morally. Y'all have been there for decades.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
And if they do and numbers of infected and dying increase...what will you say to their relatives ?
Knowing that the decision you made put them unnecessarily at risk of death ?
How many would be an acceptable number to die before a decision was made to shut everything down?
foggymorning31 · 36-40, F
@Picklebobble2 well at first we need the extra people especially on gocart but now with stay at home orders less people are shopping. There's also a few that never worked in a grocery store and it shows

When people start dying en masse because you think what is happening in New York, Massachusetts, etc. can't happen to lil ole you, you will be the one complaining, most likely the loudest assuming you are among the living. Here' a little life lesson for you, son... dead people can't work.
foggymorning31 · 36-40, F
@MarkPaul cause what's happening in NY and ma is overreporting of numbers

Elessar · 26-30, M
They came up with the same reasoning over here in Lombardy at first. Less than 50 cases, "everything is under control", "starving will kill more than the virus", "it's just slightly worse than a flu", "our hospitals can handle it well, we've much better structures than China did". Because of them we've had to lockdown the whole country for more than a month.

Which says something about the democrats ran cities and counties in those 4 largest areas

What it says is they aren't lying about their stats to kiss up to the Impeached Forever Orange Traitor.

He (and therefore, you) should be grateful to the Democrats. They are helping him get to his desired high score of 200K+ deaths in the USA, which, as he himself stated, would be a "very good job" done by him.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@daisymay Dems are targeting 200K?
Looks like they will lose again!
daisymay · 51-55, T
@Budwick Who the fuck asked for your stupid ass to pipe up? Sit the fuck down, jackass.

The 200K+ high score total that would represent a "very good" job done by him was put out by your Orange Daddy himself. There is no way that you can claim he didn't say that and still try to maintain that you aren't a lying piece of shit. 🤷‍♀️

So, are you saying that Trump, and by extension, you and the rest of the Orangekniught Brigade are Democrats?
Budwick · 70-79, M
@daisymay
Who the fuck asked for your stupid ass to pipe up?

Truth, Justice, and the American Way!

200k is what the ever changing models predicted.
Trump, in his magnificent performance, has handled things so well, he is beating the expert models!

Trump wins again!

It's also worth noting that once *most* people (the vast majority; at least 99%) are exposed to the virus, they will develop antibodies to fight the virus, and once they're exposed to more people, our species will develop herd immunity, which is almost as good as a vaccine, at least until we're able to develop one.

In other words, if I go out, catch the virus from someone else without knowing it, and my immune system fights it off without any symptoms, that will prevent me from getting it again. Then all the people around me will do the same, and so on and so forth, until our entire society recovers.

@foggymorning31 We don't know that Trump and Republican governors are living animals. They could be robots. Certainly Pence is more robotic than alive.

Except that doesn't seem to be proved. In fact, second waves have re-infected survivors in other countries.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
The low-developed backwards places are obviously the safest to start reopening soon. This is as good an experiment as any we can run in the country, with the least potential consequences.
foggymorning31 · 36-40, F
@QuixoticSoul well the way things are going with Congress not giving more money for small business loans the more rural areas were alot big business isn't going to suffer most when most Small business can't reopen

@MethDozer As burger cities go, no.

@QuixoticSoul I guess urbanism is forward of you like these sorta things.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
This isn't politics as usual, it's life and death. The virus will surge in places that lift restrictions to soon & more people will die!
Stay safe ✌

@MarmeeMarch there's few cases outside the 4 major TN cities
@foggymorning31 I'll note that down.

@pagandad I don't get why this should be reason for Fauci to be finished, and conspiracy theorists to be happy? It's been speculated for long, and these studies haven't been performed on a sufficiently big and random population yet. A lot of IgM and IgG positives and as consequence a much larger number of total cases sure looks good for the IFR/CFR, but doesn't mean those people have already recovered. Rather, it means the disease spreads much easier than we think, so higher R0 and probably higher chance for a second wave. And from what we know from Wuhan, Iran, Lombardy, Spain, the UK, NYC, etc. we know for sure the hospitalisation and mortality rates are much higher than common flus. Also, we don't even know if those antibodies give immunity and for how long. So not the moment to lower the guard.
