What is the percentage of those who have been tested? Seems the US has been very hesitant and slow to test people

@independentone You expected somebody to snap their fingers and 350,000,000 test kits to magically appear?
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@independentone and what exactly do you do with the millions who may already test positive for it ?
@sunsporter1649 Just saying, this administration has been very slow to address the problem. In my opinion, Trump reacts while leaders like Cuomo and Newsom are pro-active. Trump is not proving to be much of a leader.
@Picklebobble2 The current administration has been very slow to come to grips with this pandemic and Trump, rather than try to get out in front of the problem instead tries to find someone else to blame.

@independentone Would have been nice to have cooperation from the goddamndemocrats, would it not?

The “No Ban Act,” introduced by Rep. Judy Chu (D-CA) and co-sponsored by 219 House Democrats, would have prevented Trump from immediately implementing a travel ban on China once the outbreak of the coronavirus spread past its origins of Wuhan.

Instead, the No Ban Act would have allowed travelers from Wuhan to continue to arrive in the U.S. while the president received guidance from Congress.

“This bill imposes limitations on the President’s authority to suspend or restrict aliens from entering the United States and terminates certain presidential actions implementing such restrictions,” a summary of the legislation reads.

@independentone The question remains. What do you do with a possible million + people who may well test positive ?

You have nothing to treat them with.
You have nowhere you can put them all without putting others at risk.
And the consequences of watching a loved one being removed to an unknown location where you couldn't have any contact with them are probably worse than having that person fall ill, get worse, and maybe even die in their family home.
@Picklebobble2 All that is true, I would like to see the Army Corps of Engineers set up trailers, or tents or whatever to handle what may be an onslaught of people needing treatment.
@sunsporter1649 Trump's travel ban idea was a good one, and it came early and fast. Since then though, he has been very slow to act, and until 2 weeks ago didn't even admit there was a problem.
