The crying should be on the part of the Senate, because it loses either way and is so myopic that the trees have blinded them before they every even considered a forest existed. This isn't about a presidency anymore - this is about history.

In toeing a party line by blocking willing first-hand witness testimony, in burying their heads by refusing to accept what they know to be relevant evidence, they have effectively buried their heads in the sand on a national stage. With so many Senators set to retire, their chance of hanging on to any power or ever being considered a respectable party and not a circle of abject, morally bankrupt cowards is impossible.

Anyone with three connected neurons know Trump is guilty. And we've understood all along he wouldn't be held accountable by his own cult followers. Problem is, the curtain's been pulled back and while his base is loud and crass, its also very small and shrinking every day. The Senate painted themselves into a corner by ensuring they lose this debacle either way.

@Graylight History will show that when it came time for the Senators to make the most important vote of their lifetimes, Republicans failed miserably. They have destroyed their legacies. And for what? A man utterly corrupt, morally bankrupt, and patently unfit for office. Any office.

The sad part Graylight is that many of the Republican senators have admitted he did something wrong or inappropriate..but not impeachable. They have now given Trump the greenlight to do whatever he wants with no oversight

@windinhishair As one might be heard to say: SAD!

@PTCdresser57 And as they lay burning with the scorched earth, they'll wonder how they caught on fire.

@Graylight Will be amusing watching the democrats burning as they conduct more Salem witch hunts
Graylight · 51-55, F
@sunsporter1649 The GOP senators themselves say he's guilty, but they refuse to punish him.

You're not even toeing the party line anymore, idjit.

@Graylight He is guilty, of not kissing pencil-necks ass
