Do you actually believe there are radical leftists in the US Congress?

If so, what do you consider moderate left? What do you consider centrist? What do you consider moderate right? What is the radical right?
BlueVeins · 22-25
There are some very left-wing people in Congress -- namely The Squad and Bernie Sanders -- but I wouldn't go so far as to say radicals. To me, radicals are people who are so extreme that their visions for the world would completely restructure society, to the point where it's barely recognizable to us, like a Nazi, Communist, or anarchist. None of the leftists in Congress really want to do that (though they do seek great change). They just want to adjust the systems we have -- such as tax law, Medicare, the public education system, etc. to perform new functions.

@BlueVeins internationally, they would be considered slightly left of center. American politics are pretty far to the right, which makes moderate left policies seem radical due to relative experience

I do and I don’t think there needs to be anymore said about it. It’s so clear that Stevie Wonder would see it...

@ViciDraco My Bible tells me to avoid foolish questions.... sorry no disrespect intended...I’m not interested in arguing...

@SW-User Jesus was a socialist Jew according to the Bible... Just saying.

@ViciDraco I avoid FOOLISHNESS comments too! Just saying
The extremes would be okay murdering each other. That is far left and right to me. And I know people that would kill if they could get away with it and weren't cowards. Quiet a few on here like that.

@canusernamebemyusername I'm pretty far on the libertarian left. I just find it fascinating that people are so suffused in the American right wing system that they view candidates that would be considered right wing in other nations to be radical leftists.
@ViciDraco We need new parties:( The music at these sucks.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@canusernamebemyusername we need a new system. Otherwise we'll eventually narrow down to two crappy parties again. Even small changes like ranked choice voting would help

I guess AOC could be considered a radical leftist, maybe even Sanders.
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
@ViciDraco oh I thought you were referring to domestically.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@Longpatrol my assumption is that most people would. Americans are so sheltered from international politics that we have such a narrow view of the spectrum.
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
@ViciDraco I think its context specific as you did refer to the US Congress

I am seeking middle road Republicans with the backbone to kick out the current fraud.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@Pfuzylogic that is a rare breed after the tea party swept out a bunch of the moderates. The backbone is even more difficult. Trump's base is dedicated like no other, and going against him as a republican is likely going to cause you to lose the support of that segment of the voting block. It takes a strong backbone indeed to risk your job security to that degree, even if you believe it is best for the party and the country in the long term.

The Republicans that were going to try to primary Trump were brave folk.
Pfuzylogic · M
@ViciDraco
I would not characterize anyone supporting him to be brave but part of the Swamp.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@Pfuzylogic the ones trying to primary him were trying to run against him for this election. Not the last one
Driver2 · M
Yes of course there are and in the school system and the media which is why things are so fucked up . Got it?
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
There are racists everywhere in the world and in politics, have it here in the UK
No, I don’t think there are. There isn’t anyone in government who would dare identify as a Communist, for example. Moderate left is what people basically consider “liberal” nowadays.
