Is WW3 going to happen?

Just to trigger people even more, let's remember (Agree? Nahh, I don't expect that from SW xD) that Putin's end-game can only be to break apart NATO, alienate USA from her allies, debilitate any response and nuke the hell out of USA. Any other outcome is ultimately against Putin's interests, and the ideology of Russian neo-imperialism. It will also do a lot for the contention of resources/climate that most world leaders are secretly well informed on - just by mathematical rules of the Doomsday Paradox (What conspiracy minded call Agenda 21). What's more, most parts of this Russian strategy are already in place, although Putin has clearly been playing the long game.

Ultimately, in the usual philosophical BS wrangling, the answer to your question depends on what one means by "WW3" and "going to happen".

Again, logic suggests that the final showdown of countries (of at least current civilization) will eventually happen, though we don't know the date.

If World War is defined as "conflict in which most or all major countries are involved in", as it's commonly defined, then Cold War and War Against Terrorism at least were already World Wars.

They're just not called World Wars, because the common conception is that you can't have WW3 without nuclear annihilation. Now, if your question is actually "Is there going to be a conflict in which most of all humans die soon", we get to invoke other philosophical/logical concepts. Survivorship bias, for example, which says you don't get to say "I was right" if you're dead.

Predicting all humans won't die is always "safe" correct prediction, because it's going to be true as long as you're alive to make the prediction. In no way does this indicate that you cannot die, and all it takes is one instance of being wrong.

Whatever happens....this is just one more thing for the next president to undo. That is why it's not really important who replaces trump. Whomever that will be won't get anything done about the back log of important things for America. Like addressing infrastructure, etc. They will be completely involved for all 4 of their years just rebuilding and reversing the damage done here at home and globally with our allies that's been undone under trump. Getting clean water standards back....clean air standards waters....pulling the oil rigs out of national parks and giving those areas back to owns them --AMERICANS...not oil companies. Doing something about climate change..FINALLY.....rebuilding bridges with all of our allies....kicking Russia and Russians out of our election--and government--and putting them back into their place. Trying to whittle down the $1.6 trillion added to the national debt with the tax scam. Ending the tariffs so we don't have to keep paying 25% more for everything we buy.....uncaging kids and instead actually FIXING the immigration problem at it's roots.

I won’t say absolutely not as another famous war was started over the assassination of someone that the royalty didn’t actually care about, but I think the probability is pretty close to zero.

Some day, maybe. Not now over Iran. But I do imagine if it happens there will be fault lines between US/Europe vs. China/Russia. How the Islamic world will factor into that I am not sure. They will most likely be divided on multiple sides.

WW3 in this context is just a meme. We are unlikely to even see a real regional war over this.

But i would expect military reprisals from Iran in one form or another.
