112th - and there are more for 113th, 114th, and 115th.
And republicans made a point on these rules when they were running congressional investigations, for example, in Benghazi hearings.
Witnesses may be accompanied at a deposition by counsel to advise them of their rights. No one may be present at depositions except members, committee staff designated by the chair or ranking minority member, an official reporter, the witness, and the witness’s counsel. Observers or counsel for other persons, or for agencies under investigation, may not attend.
Republicans have controlled congressional investigations for 20 of the last 25 years, and have written the book on how these investigations are done, literally.
There are a few out there that can't see reality and they never will. Some others are worried that they will lose what little power they are holding onto.
@whowasthatmaskedman 8 hours later... and still no answer. Ussually he's a lot quicker. It's pretty annoying after all this bolstering:
No comment on my response? Just off to more bitching?
This is why you are so lonely Queef. You are NOT the only one in the room.
Not the first time he can't grasp the question and then has to go on a little tantrum. This time it was kind of a big one... 3 days ago, he couldn't even answer a question.
If you want to see some twisting and turning in style, you should read this conversation:
@Strictgram She may be warming up but the curtain has to drop first and that doesn't happen until Wednesday but on Monday is the State of the Union address and Aren't I wonderful folks speech that might convince a few more Senators to leave the Titanic before it sinks. ☺️
Been watching too much right wingnut media lately, I see. The impeachment process is going just fine. Democrats knew that Trump would obstruct justice and refuse to allow facts to be revealed to the extent he could stop the testimony of his cabinet and advisors. Dangling pardons goes a long way. But there are a few patriots left who will tell the truth no matter what the consequences are. We will start seeing them tomorrow in open session--didn't the Republicans support open sessions and more transparency before the president didn't?
@Budwick Republicans are willing to pacify Trump, and Putin, at the expense of the nation's interests. Even you clearly are by accepting Trump's bogus tale of the "perfect" extortion phone call.
Honestly, factually, we so exponentially way more posts by right-wing nut-jobs about the impeachment than we do the supposed leftists.. A simple look at the posts will tell you that but hey, I suspect you aren't interested in facts are you?
I am very sorry those nasty lefties are upsetting you and causing you worry..
@Budwick lol your opinions are very biased...and not founded in fact... quiet the reverse... IF you had HALF a brain you would have worked out that some people don't have to choose a side, and you would have worked out why.. but that's beyond you, isn't it? And you call ME stupid??? Lol again the facts defeat you!!
And your arguments are all pretty much based on bullying..if you shout louder and more often than anyone else and throw in a few insults you THINK you have won.... is that all you have got??? guess what little boy - we aren't scared and you just reinforce your own stupidity at every turn.. Bored of playing with spoilt LITTLE boys who throw tantrums if anyone disagrees with them, there's no fun once you've shown them for who and what they are...
@Adaydreambeliever See, that's how incredibly stupid this team thinking is right there:
One is pro America, booming economy, strong military, smaller government, national security.
The other has fought tooth and nail against every one of those.
So the other party is:
- Against a booming economy - National Security
Which is a pretty insane claim to make. 🤷♂️ But that's what you do when you are in a team, you demonise the other teams and fight your strawmen head on. And everything to win is good, even given up principles like the integrity of the head office. That's how retarded this "we" vs "them" thing becomes if it snowballs long enough.
@Strictgram Nobody is afraid. The whistleblower is simply irrelevant at this stage. His complaint has been comprehensively validated by more immediate witnesses. And White House’s own materials.
Repeating lies is their sick and twisted demented game, revisionist history, an old soviet style of agitative propaganda, they exist in their own demented warped bubble of fairytales:
Stormy, Stormy,Stormy.....Russia, Russia, Russia.....Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine....lies, lies and more lies. These people are traitors and are demonic zombies walking around and masquerading as human beings. Treasonous thugs.....
I can’t wait for the IG report to finally come out, then Barr and Durham will start prosecuting these corrupt pieces of crap. Obama and his stooges will finally become fully exposed. The only thing these psychopaths will have left is to activate their Soros controlled mobs in the streets. Maybe people will finally wake up to reality.......
Patriots overseas would like true Americans to know that they think: "Democrats are the funniest creatures since the Japanese waltzing mouse - who chase their own tail!!" Look at him go!!
Don't you think that in the last couple of days, there were some condemning things that came to light Budwick? Or are we just going to adress the idea that it's going nowhere, because you have a tough time comming to grip with reality?
@Strictgram I have the impression, that the perception about being "objective" is a disease these days. 🙄
This isn't even an investigation of the judical branch. Are you aware there are things that you can do, in which you violate no crime as it's defined by justice, but you can breach the perceptions of "integrity". Which is what the legeslative branch should conduct investigations off when the excecutive branch amasses to much power. That's how you keep your system up, since if the excecutive branch believes it can do what it wants you'll have a good chance of ending with a dictatorship.
Doesn't Sonderland's testimony at the verry least make you doubt about that integrity principle?
I'm just going to sit back and watch this current chapter between the left and right. And then the next one, and then the next one. Because I'll you what, it's pretty good entertainment.
@eli1601 Unlike your farmers they are not heavily subsidized by taxpayers to grow crops they cant sell on the open market. For instance, feeding corn to cattle upsets their gut and requires doses of antibiotics which get into the meat and moilk and buold up resistence to antibiotics in people. Which you fund as a tax payer to the Farmers, agribusiness and the Pharamaceutical industry.
What I'm hearing is that no one knows who is going to get hurt or helped by all of this.
The nation is effectively split, almost down the middle. Half the people want him impeached. Half don't.
There are Dems who won in Reb country that are anxious about supporting the impeachment. There are Reps who are anxious about NOT supporting the impeachment.
As far as I can tell, the only two Congresspeople with stones are the two Dems that voted against the inquiry... at least they went upstream... though I believe they are both nervous about representing a red population.
The only one I see whining is Devin Nunes. He's a hoot.
It's just another pathetic, weak attempt from the democra-, I mean far left to impeach Trump. I remember clearly that many leftists here said the Mueller report was getting him impeached for sure. I guess they ate those words on a big silver platter of misery lol.
@RippinKlouds the outcome would've resulted in more than likely his impeachment. Also, these aren't my words. I'd suggest you read carefully before replying to a comment.
(Are you for real? I can’t even imagine what media you follow that would leave you so blindly ignorant of the last two weeks. I am a Canadian, following it in a dozen different ways, with no US party leaning.)
