If these democats have such a strong case for impeachment

Then why are they hiding behind closed doors? Do it in public for all of us to see! I guess you can't do payoffs and give false testimony reports to the democrat owned Media on live TV can you?

Duhhh .... they don't have a strong case, or any case.

But neither did the Nazi party have a strong case against the Jewish people of Europe as they sentenced millions of them to death. All they needed was a bit of collusion with the broadcast and newspaper industries for the German people to be OK with that, and for the rest of the world to ignore what they were up to.

Neither did Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge party/thugs have a case against the millions of Cambodians that they slaughtered.

Democrats don't need to have a case against Trump. All they need is the help of their pals in the media and for the American people to ignore what they are up to behind closed doors.
@Heartlander Really? You don't think any Democrat shenanigans with pretrial depos can be brought out at trial?
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@MistyCee Democrat "shenanigans" are designed to make the American public OK with booting Trump from office; and since the Senate will hold a political trial, members of the US senate will vote in their political interest rather than on the evidence.

Much like Nazi "shenanigans" progressively warmed the German people to feel OK when the SS started isolating the Jews, then rounding them up, then putting them on the trains?

Didn't we all get a pretty good peek at how political trials work when we saw the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings? How many of those members of the senate based their confirmation votes on the evidence and not their political interests?
@Heartlander I think you're way off with the Nazi bit, but I'm hoping that this trial is handled better than confirmation hearings. Existing Senate rules ought to help.

Hi. You seem very concerned with process, which is not unreasonable. But do you really think Trump has nothing to hide and that each example of wrongdoing is mere media contrivance? @Heartlander
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@QuietChaos What wrongdoing? All I can gather is snippets leaked from the secret hearings
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@QuietChaos Whether or not Trump has anything to hide or not has nothing to do with the process.

If the police plants evidence on someone they would like to see prosecuted, the subject for discussion should be about crooked cops.

In a legitimate investigation, the police will go out of their way to keep the facts pure and untarnished.

Well, we can start with the obvious, the most impeachable of offenses, the bartering of US aid to a would-be ally in exchange for Biden dirt. I’m assuming you either find that kind of negotiating simply the Art of the Deal, therefore harmless, or you think it didn’t happen.

There’s the withdrawal from Syria which has myriad implications, perhaps not impeachable in the US. He agreed to look the other way as Erdogan massacres Kurds. Here I guess it’s either fake news (that even Lindsay condemned!), the right thing to do because the Kurds were fake allies, or you agree that the Trump Istanbul makes the world a better place in a way that stability in the Mid East doesn’t. Or you just want to blame Obama.

A while back there was a White Supremacy rally in Virginia. Personally I found Trump’s failure to condemn racist violence offensive, at best. I agree that there’s nothing in the Constitution that says the President can’t be a racist, baboon-faced tool. But I saw some wrongdoing there. Maybe I’m just a weak stomached snowflake.

I found the evoking of federal emergency protocol to hijack yours and my tax dollars to get that wall started (that would be the Mexico wall, not the new one in Colorado) just plain stupid. But it will, one day, open the door for a Democratic President to declare climate change a legitimate emergency and move cash over the objections of senators in Alabama and Kansas. So I guess I can live with that one. It’s still shabby and qualifies as wrongdoing.@sunsporter1649

By the way, every time Trump tries, successfully or not, to coerce deception from an underling, that’s obstruction of justice. Manafort is doing time for Trump’s wrongdoing and his own gaming. Roger Stone, too.

Paying hush money to porn stars is poor form. It’s so many scandals ago now, I can’t even remember how it was illegal. Someone please remind me?@sunsporter1649

Finally, for now anyway, he violates the emoluments clause as if it didn’t exist. It’s against the Constitution, it’s lame, it’s illegal. Loyalists say nothing and Democrats are, as usual, helpless.

I don’t want you to think I’m here stumping for the Democrats. The Dems lose every freaking battle and they’ll lose this one. Some almost-clever Orange Crushers have compared Democrats to Wile E. Coyote. And I’m afraid it’s apt! So just remember: beating the Bengals every week doesn’t make you the ‘85 Bears.

And none of these results makes Donald tough, smart, or honest.

@QuietChaos LOL, as if you understand the emoluments clause, and why it was written.
QuietChaos · 56-60, M
Riff all day on my lack of Constitution knowledge if it makes you feel better about yourself. All the LOLs you can type up won’t make Trump any kind of statesman. He’s still not “presidential” and you’re not saying anything that refutes the criminal stain. @sunsporter1649
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@QuietChaos President Trump is in no way a member of the political class, which makes the President even more appealing to me. He calls 'em as he sees 'em.
QuietChaos · 56-60, M
You’re right, he isn’t, and it’s clear that this is appeal to y’all.

Then y’all act so surprised that he’s in so deep over his head.@sunsporter1649

@QuietChaos The only stain is the one Shiff, Pelosi and the rest of the left wing gang has left on America's underpants!
QuietChaos · 56-60, M
Do you think Trump has nothing to hide? @Budwick
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@QuietChaos Do you think pencil-neck has anything to hide?
QuietChaos · 56-60, M
“Pencil-neck”? Is that hillbilly redneck for double-chin Moscow Mitch? If so, the answer is I don’t care. We’re talking about President Littlehands. @sunsporter1649
