Is the UK a secret communist society?

Media controls what we hear and what people believe
New Regulations and government agencies control companies
Big companies control your life, Internet, social media.
Facebook knows everything about you.
Higher education puts the young into debt, so that they are bound to the UK and restricted financially.
Student accommodation companies get the money and the CEOs pocket the student loan cash.
If you say anything against a company or person, you can be sued and have everything taken away from you for their benefit.

The power is being given to companies to control the nation

As a Briton native and resident, no I do not believe that claim. Nothing communist about that lot. High-level capitalist more like.

And I worked for years in companies that succeeded partly because they obeyed all those laws, including ones that protected me as an employee.

Oh, and most of the worst companies of the sort you mean, including Facebook are American, and as for Facebook - it's your choice. Just refuse to use it, no-one needs to use data-harvesters like that anyway, and so it won't know much about you!

Actually the personal information traded from social-media web-sites is for purely commercial purposes; you can hamper a lot of it by limiting your on-line time via computer of stupidly-named "smart"-phone or computer, by careful control of the equally-stupidly-named "cookies"* and by InPrivate browsing.

Outlook gives an option that reveals a vast number of its clients advertising-agencies so you can select those of interest (supposedly, there are too many, most with meaningless names), but you can blanket-block the lot. |BTInternet offers something similar. Remember though the setting only lasts for that session.

* "Cookies". What on Earth has a computer-programme routine to do with biscuits?

Just a reminder to everyone that this was a post this user made.

Which is the very opposite of communism.

@TheThinker nationalism and privatization. Good news for big ruthless businessmen

We are certainly dipping into the realm of 1984

Of course, that was critical of both the far left AND the far right.
