Does this seem like a reasonable compromise?

Any high-profile "journalists" who either

(A) engaged in Iraq War-apologism during both the Bush and Obama years; or
(B) ever supported the Iraq at any point, and pushed "Russian collusion" at any point

ought be placed before a firing squad.

This strikes me as a huge win-win proposal for everyone but those who would be executed. Pros:

1.) We snuff out a good number of people who've proven repeatedly that the fates of millions mean little to them compared to their own team-sports attitude to political ideology, and who've devoted their professional lives to convincing others to become as deranged as they are.

2.) We do so in a way that sends a strong reminder about the true purposes of journalism, and might well prevent decadent conditions like those which have prevailed during the "cable news era" from arising again for quite a while.

3.) Both the Democrats and the Republicans who are retarded enough to remain in an abusive relationship with mainstream media will still get to keep the least-reprehensible of their talking heads.

That sounds like a terrible idea for a variety of reasons. For one thing, the Russian Collusion thing has at the very least a kernel of truth to it. We know for a fact that the Russians did attempt to influence the election in a variety of ways. We know for a fact that at least one of his associates attempted to illegally cooperate with the Russians (Papadopolous), and we have tons of examples of the president attempting to undermine the investigation, with limited success. Not saying that all that is enough, but it should certainly be enough to establish ambiguity at the very least. Killing people over saying something that isn't strictly false is absolutely mad.

It would also be a little silly to kill journalists who supported the invasion of Iraq without killing the people who actually did the invasion of Iraq such as Bush and Bolton. Maybe throw the Congress members that supported them in doing so, which would wipe out the majority of our government. And therein lies the problem.

This idea that killing solved problems is very right wing and destructive. You cannot kill your way out of problems. It doesn't matter if you're the French revolution or Nazi Germany. It simply does not work.

@redredred Comic relief is being retarded enough to think Stalin killed 60 million people. That’s some fucktarded shit lmao. And you threw it out without even taking a second to think about whether that’s even fucking feasible.

@jackjjackson I haven’t done my research on Mao, but that sounds about right for Stalin, yeah. 1.5 mil in the gulags, .5 mil straight political executions, and 4-5 in the famine, or thereabouts.

The more time we spend studying the archives the more it looks like cold-war propaganda numbers were wildly inflated.

But fuck, seven million is enough to make someone a monster.
One would reasonably assume so. @QuixoticSoul

What about the NY Times, which has done both?

"Mr. Blix and Dr. ElBaradei cannot be left to play games of hide-and-seek. This is not like Washington's unproved assertions about an alliance between Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden. There is ample evidence that Iraq has produced highly toxic VX nerve gas and anthrax and has the capacity to produce a lot more. It has concealed these materials, lied about them, and more recently failed to account for them to the current inspectors. The Security Council doesn't need to sit through more months of inconclusive reports. It needs full and immediate Iraqi disarmament. It needs to say so, backed by the threat of military force." —from a Feb 15, 2003, editorial, "Disarming Iraq"

@Thinkerbell Yep, I had already considered that many of its contributors will make the list.
No. That makes no sense and would accomplish nothing.
As long as cnn and msnbc pay for the bullets and show the execution live.
