Racism, willful ignorance, tribalism or willfully uninformed?

Why do Republicans believe the economic recovery began in 2017 instead of 2010?

Is that how Republicans operate...they demonize their opponents and take credit for their accomplishments by stealing their merits? Through deception and lies they create crisis and then resolve it to their credit? Because they know after a while, the ignorant will follow them like a bunch of lemmings to their destruction?

Are trump supporters unable to go online or understand basic graphs?

Also, why do they believe it was trump who alone brought down the unemployment rate down to 3.6? When he took office it was 4.9 which means it only went down 1.3 points. In 2.5 yrs.

Are trump supporters unwilling to accept it was a black President who saved their economy? They refuse to believe that President Obama took us from disaster to a decent recovery. They forget how far things fell under Bush, and how far Obama brought us.

Racism, or simply fear? Fear of being overtaken in the census by non-whites? Or is that racism?

Do you think Obama’s economy will collapse under trump faster than Clinton’s economy did under W’s?

Has the GOP morphed into a classic cult around trump? From where I'm sitting, it meets all the accepted definitions of cult-like behavior. There’s no other explanation for their blindness and eagerness to overlook his corruption.

It's very simple. Trump made no financial decisions until well into his term. But he says the economy was HORRIBLE until 2017, then within only a few months, he alone was able to turn the economy around. And they believe it. Is this why trump "loves the poorly educated"?

Do you think Republicans will believe whatever suits their narrative if it means not giving Obama the credit that he deserves? How could they forget the wrecked economy Bush left for Obama?

So may questions, so little time...

Because it did, and I'm no Republican.

Well whatever else you may be, you’re willfully ignorant. @xixgun

@JP1119 Remember the familiar lament from President Barack Obama’s team for eight long years? “Two percent real GDP growth is the new normal for the U.S. economy.” Two percent annual growth wasn’t even the “new normal” under President Obama, 1.64 percent was. Pitifully and sadly so.

@sunsporter1649 Okay, honestly I never took an economics class. What exactly is “real GDP growth”? And how does it affect me personally (or middle class people like Joe the Plumber)? I assume that number suddenly leaped up at least over 3% as soon as Trump took office, huh?

My first impression is that that’s a stat that a bunch of rich guys look at that means that they have a lot of money. Convince me otherwise.

@JP1119 You mean a United States Government agency lied to us! Whouda thunk it!

The Bureau of Economic Analysis calculates the deflator for the United States. It measures inflation since the designated base year. That is the ratio of what it would cost today compared to the base year. It's similar to the Consumer Price Index but is weighted differently.

@JP1119 No, I just disagree with you, and I'm smart enough to know the difference.
