Hi there,

For what it is worth, and IMHO, I honestly see this as a problem for both (or all) ends of the political/cultural spectrum.
I think it is good to at least ask ourselves how biased we ourselves are, and how open we ourselves are to other perspectives, if we are going to criticise others or support a narrative that other people are so deluded.

All anyone really knows about Trump is what their chosen media sources tell them. I am certain from what I see, that that there is a huge bias in both directions, depending on which media/social media bubble a person finds themselves in.

From my side, I used to identify as very left, and was appalled and freaked out when it started to look like Donald Trump might win the election, back in 2016.
But since then I have also seen how biased and blinkered many left wing/anti Trump perspectives are.

Its complicated. But I have come to the opinion that just as in any argument within a marriage, pushing all the blame onto the other party is usually a mistake.

Peace!

@JulianJames everything wrong is the fault of trump and his minions...IMHO
@JulianJames The thing is, Trump has been in the public eye for a very long time. Most of us who dislike Trump remember him long before he ever considered running for president, when he wasn’t considered important enough for anyone on either side to “spin”. It’s his supporters who are being sold a bill of goods.

@JulianJames I watch his speeches and I cringe every time. If I said the things is says, I would hate myself. Maybe I am biased.

He lies and tells tales, a lot. You might think it’s okay for a leader to do stuff like that but I don’t. Am I biased?

Should I go on?

@MagnifiqueGirl I'm sorry...yes, I;m pulling rank on you...you are looking at this through very young eyes...your "life experience" compared to mine is 3 minutes. Everything about that demon is wrong...unhinged. you keep missing the point...ignoring what you see and hear him do and say...you should be outraged at his behaviors...outraged and frightened. You're not because you do not get it. Any woman who ISN'T outraged is a traitor to women everywhere. This is an exercise in frustration so I won't be talking to you about this anymore....maybe you'll wake up eventually

@MagnifiqueGirl you’re spot on here. News outlets stay alive because of ratings and to keep those ratings up they cater to their base. These major networks all spew their fair share of bullshit. The only ignorance comes from people that actually believe they are truly informed about anything when it comes to politics. They only know what someone chose to tell them.

Trump supporters are willfully ignorant

@HoraceGreenley *Trump lies about getting out of Syria and Afghanistan*

I believe Trump supporters go off of facts and not what the media blows up or shrinks down.

@InvaderNice Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!! Thanks for a good laugh.

there's no such thing as "getting through to trump supporters"

@SW-User 🤭 what a silly notion
You already answered your own question. I mean I just asked one how their day was, which is already weird for me to do, and then they started going on about liberals.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
I personally think the key is to take advantage of inherent human selfishness. If you emphasize what people are missing out on because of Trump and his politics, and stress to them what they COULD have with a better president, they'll listen.
Thodsis · 51-55, M
It's a guess but I reckon that Trump supporters are more religious than most. They are used to being lied to.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Thodsis Which is why they switched away from pmsnbc and the rest
How can 2 people watch a live broadcast of his speeches, etc. and 1 thinks it is one of his best and the other one thinks "My father was born in Germany" ? "We need to look at the "Oranges" (3 times) of the Mueller Investigation"? I don't see it raining Pianos in the near future.

I think he hit all the words just right
Raythedevil · 56-60, M
And of course, according to Trump at least, the MSM and Democrats are also lying to them (and the rest of us).

We will not rest until we prosecute the real traitors.

You poor fool, you just don't realize what is about to happen in the next three months. Your whole fantasy entrenched within Trump delusion syndrome will soon smack up against reality, all your "heroes" are going to be indicted. Enjoy the show...
The Democrats and their ilk are constantly at a rug store so they can sweep their sins of omission and commission UNDER THAT RUG!@therighttothink50
And as though the other side, aka Democrats aren't lying, but worse promising BS that they'll never be able to deliver on. Get real!

Why would I want to shoot the lolcows?
I’ve pretty much given up on that. When they start talking about “libtards” and defending that racist, I assume they’re lost to any sense of decency. They sound like the Neo-Nazis and white supremacists who also consider Trump their champion.

I believe liberals are ignorant

Those that follow the herd (libs) are the ignorant ones.
