Thanks, Trump, for vetoing a bill passed by both the House and Senate to stop American support of the Saudi genocide.

Such a brave patriotic conservative, letting Muslim terrorists cuck him into continuing to spend his people's money on bombing innocents in a country that's never attacked America and couldn't even if it wanted to.

News flash: America's government represents the interest of big money. It doesn't give a damn about you, me, X other innocent people, etc.

The sooner you learn this the better off you'll be: government is evil. Government kills. Government oppresses. Government destroys. Government is an impediment to true human progress. No matter the country, no matter the type and no matter who's in charge, all human government is of the devil. There is no such animal as "good government."

So the next time you hear some moron prattling on about how government should do this or that, know that such a person is your enemy. Know that such a person is the enemy of every human being. They may not as yet have realized it, but they are your enemy whether they (or you) realize it or not.

@Theseus This example right here contradicts what you're saying. In this scenario, the government, or most of it, made the right decision, to withdraw support for Saudi Arabia. It it EXTREMELY rare that Congress is helpful, but this time, they did it right.

And furthermore, the implication that all human government is bad would mean that there is no country in existence that is doing well because of the actions of its government, and that simply isn't true.

Not only that, but the only solution would be to abolish government entirely, and as much as I love anarchist punk rock, I don't wanna live in Somalia.

Every country knows to have scepticism of government but it is without bounds the US seems to have an abundance this way. Sorry, I'm not targeting, outside how my cultural news is overcome by American news and there is a ton of discord going on

@BlueMetalChick Congress passed the aforementioned legislation with FULL KNOWLEDGE that the cheeto in chief would veto it. They did it for show, period.

That said, believe whatever fairy tale you wish if it helps comfort you in some way.

@BlueMetalChick If they extracted support there was either damaging political consequence, or with this government chaos. I'm going with the former, understood political damages where Trump dances in theatrics pretending he's been given chaos, creating chaos.

@BlueMetalChick Somalia has a government. Several, actually, and all of them are evil to the core.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Theseus Do they have an officially recognized government now? I know they were attempting to cobble one together but I didn't know it had succeeded.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Theseus Ro Khanna penned that bill and I guarantee he didn't do it "for show."
Theseus · 46-50, M
@BlueMetalChick Somalia is governed mostly by factional warlords, but that still comprises protofeudal government.

And I care not who sponsored the bill. Trump had made it clear he'd veto it, and the various members of congress who signed off on it knew they didn't have a veto-proof majority. That means they passed it for show.

But as I intimated, I'm not here to convince you I'm right. That will happen eventually on its own. Everyone who studies government long enough will come to the same conclusion as I have...unless they're lying to themselves for whatever reasons of maintaining psychological integrity.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Theseus That doesn't necessarily mean it was passed "for show." If all you can do is to pass a bill even without a majority large enough to prevent a veto, that's what you can do. And you have to do what you can even if it doesn't work. Maybe Khanna will draw up another bill and try to pass it again. Perhaps by that time Trump will be convinced to sign it, or the public response from a second veto will be strong enough that he can't do otherwise.

@Theseus So the Trump government is keeping up what every American government has done before upon foreign policy? Choosing halves and halves not, based off of economic interests of the US?
Theseus · 46-50, M
@SW-User Yes.

@Theseus Frown. America has loss it's ground this way. The world around is growing up and doesn't need interference from someone whose ground is purely economic interest. I do wonder what Trump means, sometimes, means by 'Make America Great Again', one it's a brilliant slogan to a country feeling apathetic, likely for good reason, but also allows for economic warfare that may not need to happen.
