Trump threatens to dump illegal migrants into Sanctuary Cities to punish congressional foes for inaction on the border...

but wouldn't that hurt him more than help him?

It wasn't too long ago that he was against sanctuary cities claiming they violate federal law, now it appears he's for them. Not only that, but his promise to protect the innocent Americans from the crime thirsty illegals by imposing his immigration policies to keep them out, now he threatens to release them.

It's more of a reflection of this latest dynamic: revenge politics which is carried over from "the base's" attraction to professional wrestling where they feel a sense of justice by watching the "other guy" get what they think he has coming to him/her.

It doesn't matter that it makes zero sense, that by releasing illegal immigrants it defeats the whole crazy notion there is or ever was a national emergency. It doesn't matter that it makes zero sense because people released in a "sanctuary city" are not obligated to remain or forcibly held in that city. They become free to roam anywhere including non-sanctuary cities. It doesn't matter that it makes zero sense in light of the White House stating there is no serious plan to do it, Baby-trump coming out and saying he is considering it, and alternately tweeting that the story about him planning such a thing is "fake news."

It drives attention and the revenge aspect of it: "we're going to hurt the other guy/the other team" and allows the hardcore fans of this reality TV numbskull to puff out their chests one more time for a few moments in sheer disregard of common sense, social decency, and their own self-interests. It's really the driving force of what "MAGA" really is and what it has become.

The words of a liberally lying liberal which have zero basis in fact or merit. @MarkPaul

@MarkPaul I know this issue is both complex and political. But Trumps talent for unintended consequences got me thinking. One major factor in a real estate collapse is the lack of demand. And migrant intake is a key factor in demand. Shipping migrants to sanctuary cities can cause a real estate boom in those cities. Oh the Irony.🤔

@whowasthatmaskedman That's not an unreasonable assessment. When it comes to calculating what is in his own best self-interest the Baby-trump is no dummy. On everything else (at least so far to date), he's as dumb as the people who praise him for being brilliant.

@jackjjackson Not only have you become "that guy," but like an indoctrinated North Korean, you now seem to defend your state hero with worshipful defense sayings out of habit... I suppose.

@MarkPaul

I agree, it doesn't make sense. Like the ones who support Trump doing this including Trump think sanctuary cities are some type of prison ground, once you leave you can't get out. Furthermore, assume that all migrants, illegal and legal go to sanctuary cities like it's their holy ground when there are plenty living in non-Sanctuary cities.

Real estate boom? 😂😂😂 @whowasthatmaskedman

Preferable to being a blind leftist douchebag I suppose. @MarkPaul

@whowasthatmaskedman Reality is, migrants will just turn around and leave. It doesn’t matter where you drop them off.

Right now they drop oodles of them off in El Paso. Aside from the funny self-own here as Trump often points out how safe El Paso is - they obviously don’t all stay in El Paso - they immediately disperse around the country. To where there are jobs for them.

So no real estate boom. No crime wave. They’ll just leave.

@jackjjackson You seem unsure. Now, that's douchey.

@QuixoticSoul A Baby-trump hotel or golf club is where the jobs are... for illegal immigrants. It makes me wonder if this is just one big scam... kind of like [Baby-]trump University, steaks, vodka, and casinos.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@MarkPaul You correctly identified the scam. But its much older than Trump. The black labour market is the hidden lever in the wages cycle. and stopping illegals would mean wage rises for millions of minimum wage earners. A cost many industries dont want to bear. So stopping migration, including illegal migration, will always be a smoke and mirrors exercise. If it wasnt, simply fining and jailing any one who hired any worker without documents and sending a forensic accountant through farmer, service and construction company books would clean them out within a year.
