(At least thats how the President sees it) A liberal supports socially liberal choices, such as Gay rights and abortion and a socialist is prepared to pay taxes to get public works like infrastructure Education and health programs for all. One can be both. Or one can be a Trump supporter.

@jackjjackson Personally I dont care who the candidate is, but I think that the fact the Republicans have followed Trump so far up the path this time disqualifies them from placing anyone in the White House next term. They also need a time out.

AND its good for the economy to have a better standard of health. Not so good for the health insurers, medical groups and big Pharma chains who will face more oversight on their rip off pricing and poor delivery standards. But its good for the nation and all its people. Not just the rich.

@MasterLee Maintaining the general health of the population reduces chronic disease and disability caused by that disease. It increases productivity of the workforce and overall lowers the level of resources consumed in caring for the people, by being pro active. Check the stats in countries with Universal cover. Its like bothering to regularly service and maintain your car.

@MasterLee You dont understand Socialism obviously. Competition, reward and innovation can be a working part of the Socialist model. Its just a matter of collecting Taxes to pay for the service (and remember, over all it works out cheaper) to pay for the service, rather than collecting from the individual. The reason the Industry doesnt like it is because they are ripping off the system and not getting any govt oversight right now, which Govt would do if they were paying. No need to take my word. Look at Japan, Britain, Australia, Canada, New Zealand. All countries where the system works. You can argue whether it is properly resourced in places. But it is operating and everyone the problems are tiny compared to your system. Before or after Obamacare.

Providing government supported medical and education care to all takes money collected from taxes, spends it on American soil to pay American wages, on largely America products in largely America owned and run institutions for the benefit of, (guess who) largely Americans. If you happen to tax the rich people to start with, so much the better. Because if they spend it, it will be on French Champagne and perfume and Italian suits and Ferrari's. Or they sock it away in Swiss bank accounts or other tax havens. THAT drains the US economy. Having to explain the most basic concept of how economics works is fine with me. I just wish you would do your homework before embarrassing yourself.

But your country has been sold up the river and you voted for guy who will see the rich get whats left while he lines his own pockets.🖕 China is just waiting for the right moment to make a move on the $US as the worlds reserve currency, and Trumps latest threat to the indendendence of the Fed could give them just the opening they need.
