That awkward moment when you promise to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it but if that doesn't work out then "Mexico" becomes code word for "rerouting funding from essential parts of the government" but if that doesn't work then it becomes code word for "shutting down the government indefinitely."
@BlueMetalChick I think you're falling into the common fallacy of anthromorphosizing Trump.

I don't think he has the kind of emotions that would allow him to feel truly awkward.

@MistyCee Trump, truly, is not as anomalous as most people think. He isn't something new but something very old; he is essentially the culmination of everything wrong with every president and administration we've had since Ronald Reagan. Maybe even further back than that, since Kennedy, even. He's the establishment's ultimate fantasy, Corporate America's wet dream. People act as if Trump and his politics are some kind of new evil that we've never encountered before but truly, he's just the strongest incarnation of the same evil that's plagued us for the last half a century.
@BlueMetalChick I hear what you're saying, but he's actually a pretty poor tool for corporate America when you think about how manipulable and self centered he is.

I'm not saying big business, like Putin and MBS, aren't trying to use him, but his narcissism seems to overrule even his own greed.

@MistyCee If Putin has tried to use Trump, he's done a horrible job. We're in two proxy wars with Russia right now, escalating NATO buildup on their borders and bombing all their top allies in the Middle East. However, I do think Russian criminal organizations have laundered money for him and so he owes something to them. I really wouldn't be surprised.

He seems to be most beholden to the military industrial complex and fossil fuel corporations thus far. He's done wonders to make "defense" contractors like Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Honeywell, and Raytheon even richer than they already were. Murderous bastards.
