Ok does anyone actually think it's a GOOD idea that we might invade Venezuela? I know Washington D.C. loves this idea but do the people like it?

@whowasthatmaskedman My sister had a hypothesis that he might try to start a conflict with an official declaration of war so that he couldn't be removed from office because of wartime constraints, but she says she feels it's unlikely.

@BlueMetalChick Since he actually has to "ask" the House for that (Thats my understanding) I doubt he could swing it. FDR has to ask Congress after Pearl Harbour.

@BlueMetalChick worked for Margaret Thatcher and many others......war boosts positive opinion. Plus the American empire is on its way out, as soon as the dollar is dropped as the reserve currency which is already happeneing, and they always overreach militarily in their death throws. Venezuela must be very tempting for them.
Also, the narrative for invading/imposing regime change falls apart even at a cursory glance

@gol979 Agreed. Even if it was the right thing to do,(and its not..) I doubt the Democrat Congress would Throw Trump such a juicy bone.

@whowasthatmaskedman apart from a few.notables they have been either supportive or ominously quiet on Venezuela. In fact when trumpkins said about pulling troops out of Syria the democratic party went apoplectic......I wouldn't put too much hope I'm the democrats doing the right thing

@gol979 I dont expect them to do the right thing for the right reasons. But they now the boost a nice small war will have come election time.. They wont give him that.

@whowasthatmaskedman good point......but I think the democrats just think they will get in because they are.more polished than trumpkins. I would be surprised if they halted a.coup in Venezuela
