Let us dispense with political taxonomy (left and right) for this subject.....

Surely we can all agree that this economic system is broken for the majority of people? In a recent Oxfam report, 26 people own as much wealth as 50% of the global population.

The economic model of deregulated, free-market capitalism doesn't work......it's time for more equitable (wealth and environment) system, don't you think?

I don't know, there is something to be said about hard work and achievement versus being a lazy a$$.

Entitlement without being vested is a dangerous road IMO.

@Keeper fair enough.....but you should be able to.reverse that. Most people work, work, work and still cannot or only just keep their heads above water. That is wayyyy more common than people just lazing around.

No one is suggesting entitle!ent without being vested, that's a bit of a straw man argument

US also is a developed country with roads, clean water, infrastructure and the ability to deal with disasters in a timely manner. While not everyone is "rich" in a monetary value, it's a hell of a lot better than most countries.

Not to detract from working hard everyday to pay bills, it sucks. But free-market allows you to have choices on where you spend that money.

@Keeper and those roads, clean water (not so clean now, another damnation of this system), ability to.deal with disasters (mainly caused by this system, ecologically) were made possible by public money not by the free market.

Also, this system is trying and succeeding in rolling back all those societal safety nets.

This system also creates monopolies so you could say that you have a.choice but that choice is so limited its almost like you have no choice. Especially when you don't have much/zero spare capital.

The economics, even at a cursory glance, literally makes no sense.

@gol979 I think we both have valid points, it's nice to have an informed rational discussion on here, doesn't happens too often.

Speaking of working to pay the bills...lol Gotta run.
