Since most illegal immigrants arrive legally by air, how is a wall going to stop them.?

The proportion of illegal immigrants who arrive by air is generally considered to be around 50-66%. I'm not a wall advocate, but if a phyical barrier can stop even a decent chunk of the remaining 34-50% of all other illegals, that's still pretty effective.

@BlueVeins but a wall won't stop even those crossing the border at ground level - simply because the vast majority of "illegal immigrants" arrive legally and simply don't leave. If anything, a big mofo wall will just keep them in

@BlueVeins And will accomplish what? What exactly are migrants doing to this country and your daily life?

@voodoo1970 As I said, Visa overstays only account for 2/3 or so of illegal immigrants. About 1/3 hop the border unannounced.

@Graylight I don't personally dislike illegal immigration, but it does have a substantial effect on the U.S. economy, most notably by using government services and paying taxes on a relatively infrequent basis. Taxes generated by illegal immigrants do not offset the costs of the services they use.

@BlueVeins Then the system needs to be changed. A wall never did anything productive. (I'm not saying you advocate a wall or not.)
