What would be included in a better Brexit deal than May’s withdrawal agreement?

JimboUk · 31-35, M
She had all the cards but yet reused to play them, as she was always a remainer. We have a Trade deficit of £69B with the EU (Millions of jobs across Europe depend on our economy) we are the second biggest contributor to the EU budget behind Germany, also the second biggest economy behind the Germans (We are almost 20% of the GDP for the whole EU) We are the most powerful army available for EU defence. Whether you like it or not the UK is an important diplomatic influence in the world, as well as culturally... How you can come out of a negotiation paying £40-£60Billion (Just because they thought they would try their luck) and having a foreign power demand supremacy over your law making and ability to be "competitive". You're even the worst negotiator in the world or a double mole in the camp. She should have stated very clearly, we are leaving all customs agreements, common Market, ECCJ, European court of law, every division of the European Union and will now negotiate a free trade agreement. It was never going to be easy, big changes are difficult, you don't grow without some pain first. If the EU played hard ball we leave on WTO. This would cost the EU far more Billions then us (We would acutly profit from this) and they would be forced to negotiate far more sensibly. When you have Tony Blair meeting Jean-Claude Juncker for updates, you know a stitch-up is underway.

@JimboUk Very much agree, though I thinkMrs May is guilty of incompetence rather than duplicity.
JimboUk · 31-35, M
@MartinII It seems like I have less confidence in her then you my friend.
MartinII · 70-79, M
@JimboUk I have very little confidence in her, but I do respect her motives.

Staying in and playing a full part in the shaping of Europe.

@alan20 You're so welcome!

@helenS Thanks so much. You've given me back my identity.
helenS · 36-40, F
@alan20 Maybe the British people need some time to find their place in a changing world. Be back soon!

@JimboUk Check out the Vacancies!!
You argue for arguments sake, you've been noticed on many threads.
TROLL elsewhere.
JimboUk · 31-35, M
@Harriet03 I dont think your capable of being objective about this subject.. You are despreate to make this a personal thing between you and I, which is quite sad.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@JimboUk Dream on!
EvilFairy · 18-21, F
the british been totally delusional about their position.. the eu doesnt need the uk... but the uk needs the eu
MartinII · 70-79, M
@EvilFairy But I haven’t claimed to be an expert. You have claimed to know that I am not one! Still, this is becoming silly. Can we just agree that there are different opinions?You hold one, I hold another.
EvilFairy · 18-21, F
@MartinII that works for every topic ever.. but ok =)

A deal where we leave Europe totally and put back hard borders .Make our own laws and stop the tide of asylum seeking immigrants coming here just because were a soft touch.
firefall · 61-69, M
@Rhodesianman so you should clearly be the first ones forced out as dirty immigrants
Rhodesianman · 56-60, M
@firefall Do you know what I am not gonna bother with you .You obviously have no idea having to resort to being insulting .

Sorry we made a mistake, can we stay.
@SW-User maybe we can get the angry mob on our side by portraying it as we’re gonna force ourselves on the EU whether they like it or not. We’re gonna stay and we’re not even gonna say sorry ooooooh now that’s the kind of petty revenge that the angry mob part of the brexiters live for
SW-User
@AndrewtheAlu That might actually work.
MartinII · 70-79, M
That’s a very good question, as the responses so far show. The only easy way to improve it would be to allow a hard border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, or to allow Northern Ireland to remain in the customs union, both of which are objectionable for obvious reasons.
@MartinII yep. It’s crazy how multiple corners of politics keep saying they’d renegotiate and get a better deal when I have never found anyone who can answer this question with any substance

Makes perfect sense to walk away, from the largest trading block in the world!! 🤦‍♀️
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@helenS oh yes! No flower 😖
helenS · 36-40, F
@Harriet03 No flower this time, because you referred to the precursor of the Free Republic of Europe as a mere trading block.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@helenS That's why we joined initially, then it blossomed into something good.
Ps you can shove your stem hun!
TheConstantGardener · 56-60, M
I'm afraid that we're well past the point of adding anything meaningful to May's deal. The EU27 have said categorically that they won't reopen the withdrawal agreement.
nuddie · 61-69, M
Definitely a no deal
Rhodesianman · 56-60, M
@nuddie No deal is the best deal
thats was a joke from the start..
an example to anyone else tinkering with the idea of leaving the EU..
firefall · 61-69, M
Not Exiting.
