The US and Israel have left UNESCO

Easy to see why given what UNESCO stand for eh?

Well actually they withdrew because of UNESCO trying to be impartial about Israel vs Palestine and give them both a voice in their organisation but do you really believe it has nothing to do with the US government disagreeing with (or ‘denying the necessity for’) pretty much all of those goals at the moment?

Happy new year everyone

What do you expect? The US is currently violating their own constitutional rights to free speech by taking punitive legal action against people for badmouthing Israel. Pro-Palestine student groups and activists are being punished by law.
@BlueMetalChick I don’t think I expect anything anymore :/ I just hope the world’s political implosion ends soon

@AndrewtheAlu You and me both.

@BlueMetalChick I’m pretty sure Palestinian activists would totally try to take over the World if it could. Have you ever met a Palestinian activist? They only have zero respect for anyone else’s wishes and goals. If Palestinians wanted to become Israeli, they would not even allow it! They don’t even respect the wishes of Palestinians! I’m not saying the Israelis are in the right. They’re both the same. Just about. All I can think of it that religion is at the heart of the problem. If they both believe the same thing except not about the other- of course they will fight forever!!!! Ugh. Until you take our lives, others will respect your beliefs. Once you take lives, trust is gone.

@Mindful "Hey don't drop bombs on unarmed children on the beach in the Gaza." That's the extent of 75% of Palestinian activism. Yes, I've met them, a lot more than you have considering the time I've spent in the Middle East.

But no, that's not acceptable. We NEED to drop bombs on unarmed children on beaches. And beat innocent teenagers to death. And shoot hospital workers from 900 feet away with sniper rifles from behind concrete barriers. And continue to steal more and more and more land from people who need somewhere to live.

But that sarcasm is lost on you. Because you just said it yourself, "if you want people to respect you then you have to kill them." What a hindrance you are to humanity as a whole. Encouraging murder simply to soothe your own insecurities.

@BlueMetalChick li am sure there are innocents on all sides. And that includes anyone that is being deceived.

I have little respect for those who take the American $ and deface it with red stamp propaganda (or ANY propaganda and act like it’s no big deal to take our laws and stamp on them in our own country. Not even Mexico does this, Honduras, El Salvador, nor any other country near us, have ever done that). If a country does not want to accept the basic tenets of war, then it will always be at war. Both countries are equilateral stubborn. Both countries are equally wrong.

@Mindful So if you hate propagandists, do you also condemn US support of Saudi Arabia? I'd surely hope so if you wish to avoid hypocrisy.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@BlueMetalChick i can only talk about what I know. Quite frankly know nothing about Saudi.

The people in positions of great power have much d greater knowledge. And I suspect now only half truths are being told. Because I don’t follow SA, I can’t speak on it.

I’ll say this: Human behavior. People in power always fighting to keep power.

@Mindful Well then we can have a conversation about the Saudis some other time. The sun is coming up though, and I haven't even been to bed yet. So not now.
