Well actually they withdrew because of UNESCO trying to be impartial about Israel vs Palestine and give them both a voice in their organisation but do you really believe it has nothing to do with the US government disagreeing with (or ‘denying the necessity for’) pretty much all of those goals at the moment?
What do you expect? The US is currently violating their own constitutional rights to free speech by taking punitive legal action against people for badmouthing Israel. Pro-Palestine student groups and activists are being punished by law.

The people in positions of great power have much d greater knowledge. And I suspect now only half truths are being told. Because I don’t follow SA, I can’t speak on it.
I’ll say this: Human behavior. People in power always fighting to keep power.

Can Israel leave planet earth too and perhaps immigrate to Mars? I hear there is plenty of uninhabited land there where they can happily form their state.
@LvChris It makes you wonder whether once this present nightmare is over , will the GOP once it regains power post-Trump be pulling out of all international accords and treaties in the same manner ?
