For real though. Does trump's behaviour not frighten you? Does it not make you worry after the future of democracy in the US?

He's deliberately encouraged anger and distrust of foreigners and minorities as a scapegoat for america's problems. He appoints his cronies to positions of power and HE LABELS THE FREE PRESS THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!

Like, do you think that fascism couldn't happen in the states? Do you think that these other countries just woke up one day and decided to be ruled by fascists? No, it happens in stages. We need to be vigilant to protect our freedom.

I feel like all too many people are applauding as trump and his ilk erode the foundational concepts on which america stands.

I was brought up to place my faith and confidence in principles, institutions, and the American people themselves. As such I was raised to believe that collectively Americans themselves were the moral authority for the country and its source of vision.

I guess, truthfully, Trump doesn't worry me.

What worries me is how so many people have put total trust in Trump. Not Trump the executive of said principles and institutions. But Trump the man.

That worries me.

Now any criticism of the administration's policies is an attack on Trump the man. And any attack on Trump the man amounts to being anti-American, anti-Christian and un-patriotic.

It's not new. There was a bit of that authoritarian spirit under Obama. But now we're up to our balls in it.

So now we go from... So what's up with that raking the forrest nonsense?... or... I'm not sure about these Saudis to-- You hate Trump and America!

That's about as unhealthy as it gets. And that's on us, not Trump.
@CopperCicada well said.

Something that trump doesn't understand or appreciate, neither does "HIS" base supporters it seems, is "The Kindness of Strangers". THAT is Who we are.

The most powerful Nation on the planet in the history of mankind, one of the wealthiest and most generous.

He has an insatiable ego and everything is about HIM not the people who he leads.

Excellent point. Politics based solely on personality is bad. @CopperCicada

Yeah that's a bit worrying too. It's one thing to think he's doing good for the country but to be so devoted to the man himself? I mean, he's a fairly objectively contemptible person whether you like what he's doing or not. And yet i have literally heard people describe his presidency as ordained by god and his embarrassing boasts of "biggest/best _____ in history" admired because he speaks his mind.
