I don't understand that problem.
1) He's wrong because when minimum wage goes up, people making the previous minimum wage often get a little bump. At least in these parts.
2) How is his job obsolete by virtue of the fact that he's now making the same as someone who was making less?
3) The cost of living is always going up, hence the minimum wage hike.
